Customer Review: Fibromyalgia or hypothyroid

I have been sick 6 years with "fibromyalgia" and recently a naturopath gave me lugol's iodine to use on my skin. I was surprised how fast it absorbed. I have heard if you absorb the iodine within 24 hours, you're deficient. I'm still tentative because I have tried everything for chronic fatigue and pain, but for the past few days I've gotten out of bed with energy and very little pain. It's cold and rainy in my area which means I usually have a very hard time moving around. Not so right now. I'm excited that this could all be explained very simply.
When I was first diagnosed, I recalled an article I had read when I was 15 about a woman who had hypothyroid and her symptoms. I thought for sure this was my problem, but my tests always come back normal. More extensive testing was done, which came back low-normal. I didn't realize some that test within normal ranges are still treated for hypothyroid based on their symptoms.

I had a thyroid tumor when I was 9 months pregnant. I had it removed 2 weeks after I had my baby and am left with half of a thyroid. I wish I had read this book before my pregnancy. My baby is two now and has turned out very healthy, active, and intelligent--but I feared the worst.
Doctors all rejected the idea that the tumor could be from lack of iodine. If I had had the tumor 60 years before this, doctors would probably have addressed iodine deficiency first. This book explains the need for iodine in a understandable way for the layman. I wish every doctor knew of the information inside of it. It gives simple solutions to serious problems through iodine supplementation. I have read as many books on thyroid health that I can get my hands on and this one along with Broda Barnes' book is by far my favorite.

I bought this book and iodine after extensive internet research after being diagnosed with Hypothyroidism 2 months ago. In a matter of 2 months my TSH level went from 18 all the way up to 72, so I am not sure what I did wrong. Just be very careful and have your Thyroid very closely monitored if you try this. I may have not done it right. I found the book did not explain very well at all how much Iodine I should be using daily. Nor did the bottle..... so I was putting 1 or 2 drops in a glass of water every morning. After reading the book, I still had to go on the internet and try to calculate exactly what I should be using. Maybe I just did it wrong, but the book should have been more forthright about telling you how much to use.Customer Review: I'm positive it was the iodine that helped me get over rosacea

For years I had rosacea and it seemed to be getting worse as time went on. Then I hit perimenopause with its hot flashes and palpatations and mood swings. I decided to try iodine, putting a circle about the size of a quarter on my skin somewhere where I could watch it. If it absorbed within 12 hours, then I knew that I was deficient and kept putting it on until it was no longer absorbing. After six months, my rosacea is completely gone, my hot flashes are not nearly so bad and my palpitations are much less. Before I started using the iodine, my doctor had me on thyroid medication and blood pressure medicine and I felt even worse than I had before. I am a retired person who has always read "health" books...since
I was 10 years old. Now, at 67, I am devouring them. This book was particularly helpful to me because while I have always known that iodine prevents goiter and is essential for optimal health, I had NO idea that it plays such a crucial role in so many aspects of our health. I also did not know that iodized salt falls far short of supplying us with what we need of this nutrient. I am buying additional copies of this book for my doctor, friends, and relatives.
We all need strong immune systems in this day and age.
