Customer Review: I was skeptical, but have been pleased

I eat well and exercise a lot but have been feeling lethargic for way too long. I started taking 5-6 drops of this in a large glass of water every morning for the last 2 weeks. It tastes DISGUSTING so now I hold my nose and drink some fresh water right after. It is worth it though, and here is why...
Things I've noticed that have changed: about 20 minutes after ingesting, I get almost a "buzz". I feel awake and clear headed and ready to go to work. Fingernails have grown much more quickly and are very strong without the normal ridges that I get in them. Also, one thing that I didn't notice until a couple of days ago: I went to a friend's birthday party last weekend and when I saw the pictures from it I was actually blown away by how good my skin looks! (this has NEVER happened before). Even in a dark room under a camera flash you could tell my face had a very healthy glow. Also, I am sleeping better.
I don't think this is something needed for long term use, but for now it's working miracles.

Like another reviewer - we got this due to the Japan nuclear crisis. We live in the Pacific Northwest and wanted to take something to protect our thyroid due to radiation levels showing up over here. Even though the levels of radiation are low - we still wanted some protection. Lugol's is NOT the potent potassium IODIDE white powder. We do have some of that on hand should a nuclear disaster happen over here. Lugol's is a very weak potassium iodiNe. "spelled with an N not a D". My husband and I take 3 drops in a glass of water. We've been doing that for about a week and a half now. So far we've only had good results. More engery. Complextions look great! It's working for us in a postitive way so maybe it was something we were lacking. We are going to continue taking it as a supplement. We hope to never have to take our stock of potassium iodiDe powder.Customer Review: improved health for cat

my cat has thyroid cancer, hypothyroid, and kidney failure. my vet said there was nothing they could do for my 14 yr old cat and just to make him comfortable until the end.
i to have hypothyroid and have been reading alot about iodine treatment. i bought a bottle for myself before my cat started having problems. his fur was in poor condition and he laid around most of the time. he was confussed, couldnt find his food/water, couldnt even walk straight.
i starter placing 3 drops of iodine/iodide (Breath of life) in his water once a day, and within a week his fur looked better, he wasnt as confused acting and he actually plays once in a while now. i dont think this healed him of his problems, but it has improved his quality of life. hes even walking straighter now, its only been 3 weeks of treatment

I read a couple of articles on iodide and iodine and became interested to see if adding more to my diet would help my energy levels and serve as a microbial deterant. According to several articles iodide is not just used in the thyroid gland but is also found in all of your mucus membranes. I don't want to get into the details of how it works (increased macrophage peroxidation use, ect) but after adding it to my diet, 4 drops (approx. 12.5 mg), I noticed a leveling in my energy levels, decreased mental haze or sluggishness, and haven't dealt with any sickness yet. I've only been on it for a couple of weeks so it's still too early to make any definitive conclusions. I have noticed though that I do have an increased heat production since implementing Lugol's into my diet. I am a 65 year old female and have chronic UtIs for the past 20 years. I also have been diagnosed with Proteus penneri after bladder infusions for Interstitial Cystitis and Epstein Barr Virus (6 months ago). What seems to help with Treatment for Klebsiella pneumoniae and Proteus penneri (community/hospital acquired) is a product called Lugols Iodine which I discovered on the Internet while trying to find help for UTIs resistant to antibiotics. I buy it on Amazon. I use about 6 drops in a glass of water 3 times a day for 4-7 days. I notice relief of symptoms of Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus penneri and UTIs within 2 hours. I assume Lugols Iodine has anti-bacterial properties and also take Acidophilus. Works for me.
