I deleted my original review, so as to clarify. To SUMMARIZE:
1) I'm highly allergic to fragrance.
2) This is the most aggravating deodorant I've ever used.
3) Many may have a different experience.
FIRST, in Jack Black's defense:
This deodorant does smell good. It has a well-balanced, mature aroma that is not overpowering. Nor is it pompous; it is subtle, yet sufficiently detectable. I would likely wear it if I were able.
I am extremely allergic to many fragrant compounds - more so than most people with such allergies. Even so, most deodorants cause nothing more than a temporary discomfort, which usually ceases upon washing. Contrarily, a few deodorants have caused notable allergic reactions, such as Old Spice Red Zone (but none to the extent of Jack Black). Logically,I no longer use those in the latter category.
I have not yet sought medical advice; my sensitivity is hardly an inhibition.
All that being said, no other Jack Black product has caused me any aggravation whatsoever.
SECOND, -MY- experience:
Regardless, upon repeated attempts to wear this deodorant an unreasonable rash would almost invariably develop, so as to make my armpits extremely sensitive - for up to three days. The reaction is significantly exacerbated during & (especially) after perspiration. This may simply be a result of the deodorant particles permeate into the skin and becoming "trapped" for a longer period of time, thereby extending the immediate contact with my skin.
Around the third day from application, my underarm skin would dry out severely and, being completely devoid of moisture, peel extensively. Simultaneously, the sensitivity/irritability gradually subsides; after another two or three days sensitivity returns relatively to normal, yet complete healing could take up to seven or eight days.
TO CONCLUDE:
This receives two stars. Having been judged from my experience, perhaps it should only be one. Still, I know it is more than probable that others can enjoy this product - and do. Also, the price is not all that reasonable. It may be opined that this is countered by its exclusivity.
