I have been suffering from recurring yeast infections since 2006. I had been on a year of antibiotics in 2005 for sinus infections. After an ENT doctor finally discovered the blockages in my sinuses, and I had surgery, and was finally relieved of the sinus infections and antibiotics. But the end result of a year of antibiotics was yeast infections which then led to vulvar vestibulitis. I was a mess! The doctor prescribed a month of Elavil for the vulvar vestibulitis, and I was cured of that problem. Since then, my doctor has been giving me diflucan to keep the yeast infections at bay. For the past 6 months I have been taking diflucan weekly because the yeast infections have been attempting to come back each week. Recently, I had to increase the dosage of diflucan to every 6 days in order to keep the yeast infection from taking hold. Three weeks ago, I decided I had to find a better cure for these recurring yeast infections! Finding out that too much diflucan can cause liver damage scared me. I began doing some research on the internet to find a natural cure to yeast infections as I didn't see an end in sight for these yeast infections. I found Femdophilus! After reading all the reviews on this website and seeing that it was mentioned in Prevention Magazine in the January 2008 issue as a medical break through!, I figured I had nothing to lose. I ordered the product. It arrived in three days, and I immediately placed it in the refrigerator. I began taking the femdophilus pills (twice a day)and reluctantly gave up the diflucan. Within just a few days I noticed a huge improvement. I've now been on the FemDophilus for two weeks and feel like a new woman! I have been telling others about this product. I have not taken the diflucan since starting this product, and I don't see any need to take any more diflucan. I feel GREAT!Customer Review: impressed

After a disastrous month of feminine imbalance, this has been my saving grace.
After a couple weeks of a BV infection that I couldn't kick, I finally broke down and bought a homeopathic treatment from the drugstore. After five days of that, I ended up on the other side of the spectrum, with a yeast infection.
I finally got in to see my ob/gyn, who prescribed me an antibiotic that had me doubled over with abdominal pain for three days.
At the end of THAT ordeal, I was STILL experiencing symptoms.
After about ten days of Fem-Dophilus, symptoms are gone, and I'm feeling like myself again.
It's a small price to pay for that kind of peace of mind, and, if you suffer from frequent infections and imbalances, you may be saving yourself money this way.
I never used to feel the need for this kind of preventative care, but, after a month like this, it's making perfect sense.
I've had my fill of clumsy drugstore treatments, time-consuming, counter-productive trips to the doctor, and gut-wrenching antibiotics for one lifetime.
A word of advice - keep refrigerated!
There's no point in taking this if you don't. You gotta keep those billions of little microorganisms alive!

Before taking Fem-dophilus, I experienced recurrent bacterial and yeast infections. My doctor would prescribe medication for one type of infection and the treatment would lead to the other type. I was going from one medication to the other so often that my doctor was worried I might develop a resistance. I believe that this started after taking an antibiotic for bronchitis, killing off some of my good bacteria, and leading to a yeast infection. After doing research online, I discovered this is a common problem for many women. I chose to try Fem-dophilus because of the clinical research that backs the product up, and I have not been disappointed. Now I make sure to take this probiotic at the maximum dose whenever I am prescribed an antibiotic. I original started with the maximum dose for a month, during which my symptoms quickly disappeared (within a week or two). I was able to gradually reduce the dosage, now only taking one pill every other day. I plan to try every two days, and see if any symptoms return. Overall, this probiotic treated my infections better than any medication my doctor could prescribe.Customer Review: Makes interstitial cystits liveable

Oh my gosh I can pee.
Femdophilus allows my urine retention due to intersitial cystitis to abate for the most part. i have had IC for 2+ years. It got so bad I had to pee 40+ times per day, with urine retention so bad I looked 6 months pregnant. I was in such severe pain I could not walk more than a block. With 2 capsules per day + aggressive lyme disease treatment, I am back to work full time and pee less than 10 times per day. Fem dophilus has been a fantastic treatment which allows me to live a normal life. I initially got a yeast infection like reaction. I reduced the dose and worked back up to 2 per day and now maintain my bladder health with 1-2 per day. every time I try to go off, I relapse to the point of not being able to zip my pants because the urine retention causes such painful inflammation of my bladder. I have yet to find a cure, but this keeps me sane and able to work. I can now run 2-3 miles without severe bladder inflammation. It's not a cure, but can help.
Try it, for $20 and it just might give you your life back.

I battled with 7 months of persistant yeast infections and bacterial infections. I finally found a doctor that didn't treat my symtoms as "no big deal" and she suggested I start taking an acidophilus every day. I looked at every review/blog/chat entry I could find and finally settled on Fem-Dophilus. I started taking one pill in the morning and one pill at night. I tried to take it on an empty stomach (I've read that some probiotics are more effective if taken that way) but I wasn't too strict about the empty stomach rule. It took about 3 weeks for me to start feeling better. But oh my gosh that three weeks was worth the wait. I haven't had an infection in over 6 months (previously had an infection almost every other month). I sometimes forget to take it twice a day but I am still infection and pain free. I buy the pills at my local health food store in the refrigerated section because I don't want the pills shipped to my house getting warm on the front porch if no one is home.
