All I can say is this product works. I have had recurrent yeast infections for 6 months and tried everything, from prescription creams to Diflucan and even some home remedies like garlic and yogurt. None of these worked, the infections kept coming back as soon as the meds were gone. I read the reviews and decided to order this product, even though it needs to be kept cold. I live overseas (japan), so there was no way it was kept refrigerated all the way here. When it arrived, I put it in the fridge and started taking 2-4 pills a day for the first week, then went down to one a day eventually. It has been over a month and I have had no more infections!! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the fact that I was not given the option to ship my package with ice packs, which would have increased the potency of the probiotics. If you are getting this for BV, this will lessen it, but not cure it completely. BV is the most embarrassing, frustrating and depressing thing to happen to a woman, but the steps below should eliminate it completely.
1. Take 800mg Folic Acid 1x a day. (This should have an immediate effect--within 24-48 hours.
2. If above doesn't completely eliminate it, add 2 Fem-Dophilus capsules 2x a day to the routine. (It needs to be refrigerated so buy at Amazon (best price for 60 capsules) during Spring/Fall/Winger, and during summer, get it at Sprouts or other natural grocery store in their vitamin refrigerated area.)
3. If the combination above doesn't eliminate it completely, add to the routine, the following--douche with Hydrogen/Peroxide and water (2 parts to 1 part) 1x a week.

I have suffered from recurring infections since my teens (now in my 30s). I read about this product in Good Germs Bad Germs and decided to give it a try. It works. It works so well that I can honestly say this product has changed my life and my marriage. When I think of all the money I have spent over the years on creams, prescriptions, OTC supplements, homeopathic treatments, special diets, etc -- I wish more doctors knew about this product. It would have saved me so much pain and heartache.
I have been using Femdophilus for over a year now, and at this point, I take it only when I feel discomfort. In the beginning, I took it regularly (twice a day) for six months.
Do not buy any other brand. These probiotic strains are tested and have years of clinical study behind them.

I was dubious about this product at first, I mean how can you take it orally, and it has to travel all the way through your digestive system to get to where it needs to, intact, in order to have any effect? I have been pleasantly surprised to find that so far it really does seem to have worked on my BV problem. Previously I was taking gels which worked in the short term but the problem would always come back. I've been taking these tablets for 2 weeks and so far, so good: no problem. The capsules are made of a substance which isn't dissolved by the digestive juices in the stomach and upper digestive tract, so they can carry the friendly bacteria through to where you need it. Not sure about the effect of taking it long term though, I wonder if it will continue to have the same effect or if your body justs gets used to itCustomer Review: did exactly what it said

I had a stubborn bacterial infection for about six months? Started by being misdiagnosed as a yeast infection, I think, I took the wrong medication and then all hell broke loose. I ended up taking antibiotics a few times, general antibacterials...but it never felt completely back to normal, even though I did feel better after each. Anyway, after such a long infection I was feeling somewhat hopeless but I started taking this product Femdophilus, orally twice a day and about two weeks later (today) I went to the gynecologist, who declared me vaginally "normal"! No more excess discharge! Hopefully I'll be able to wean myself off of these pills and maintain, but I just wanted to leave a nice review to let other ladies with persistent infections know that this product could help.
