I absolutely love this fragrance. Although I have others I really enjoy, such as Ferrari Black and Polo Black, my girlfriend describes this one as "the one that 'The Most Interesting Man in the World' would wear" (we both love those commercials). It's robust without being overwhelming, inherently masculine (i dare say it makes my girl a little giddy when i wear it), lasts all day and then some, and is really just a great value. This fragrance could be worn with an expensive suit or business-casual attire, and is sure to be a hit either way.Customer Review: Great scent

The scent starts off sweet, almost syrupy (is that a word?) Tamarind Tea Leaves and Date Fruit are predominant. However - the best part of this cologne is the dry-down. The middle and high notes are superb. The initial sweet smell becomes a mellow, masculine (a little spicy too) scent with vanilla and leather notes predominant. Perfect for Autumn and Winter.
The only con is that it doesn't last very long (on me.) I would have to say this is a night-time scent.

I was purchasing some other cologne for a gift when I came across this ... after reading the reviews alone, I decided to order this for myself (and I'm not really even that big of a cologn person). The reviews are right on ... it's great. It's a masculine scent ... not over powering, not perfumy ... it definately has gotten noticed and I've gotten positive comments on more than one occassion about the scent. by the way ... who is John Varvatos?Customer Review: Mediocre

Fine with no box, no cap and stuff...
I've Googled for top 10 and John Varvatos came up on top 1, so the purchase.
I just don't see (smell) anything special about it.
I've been complemented with old school polo sports (one in the blue bottle).
Was looking for a better one.
Just don't see anything special about this cologne, will try some other brand when this runs out...

One other reviewer hit the nail on the head with the middle and end notes of John Varvatos: Leather, vanilla and spice. It reminded me of the smell of a new leather jacket and cinnamon candy.
It really is a MEN's cologne unlike many that could be mistaken for women's perfume. However it is not overwhelming, only those in close proximity would know you're wearing anything. Isn't that the idea?
