Customer Review: Surprised on how good the tape works.

Discovered this tape from a runner's magazine and got really hooked into it. I was reluctant that tape works as advertised on common injuries for runners. First usage was for a sore shin splint, I thought the tape works like Icy Hot patch or similar (providing heat on the area where it's applied), but didn't feel anything so I though it was not working, however I can say that the time needed to heal got reduced by a 60%.
You have to be careful with the tape in order to get the best results. It easily gets wet and the corners tend to peel off, so it may endure less time than expected on the skin (approximately 4 days). There are plenty of web sites where taping techniques are demonstrated, so you have many options.

I'd hurt my knee stumbling off a sidewalk curb about 4 yrs prior to trying this product. I had been to the doctors and therapists multiple times, but they couldn't find a way to relieve the chronic pain that the injury had produced. During one session at the therapist, my usual therapist was on vacation, and I got his stand-in. She looked at my records, and then asked if I'd ever tried Kenesio tape. I'd not. She gave me a sample and showed me how to wrap my knee. I bought this stuff and within 4 weeks the pain was completely gone. About 2X per year I tend to do something to aggravate the knee, the pain comes back, I put the kenesio tape on, and within a couple of days it's gone again. The Kinesio tape was even better and MORE than I expected!!! I've been using it on a reocurring ankle injury for the past week. (Rolled up) There a sticker-like protective backing, so when I initially felt the material, I thought it was going to be rough and uncomfortable--esp. on an ankle, with its bumps/grooves. But when I removed the backing to apply the tape, I was completely blown away and impressed by the structure, detail, and (most importantly) the comfort of the tape! Really does feel like a "second skin". I researched this product before purchasing on their website--kinesiotaping.com, and the idea is quite genius. I tried the tape on my shoulder/neck area and left in on overnight. By the next morning, I had blisters along the edges of the tape. When I removed the tape, the blisters formed a red line that showed the outline of where the tape had been. I have had some problems with rashes from adhesives before but was surprised by how big these blisters were. I like the tape itself and am able to use it on my foot without any problems so far. Just caution to anyone that has sensitivity to adhesive to buy only one roll until you see if you will be able to use it.

I purchased the Kinesio kit and the blue and pink tape based on trying this through my Chiropractor. The book was easy to understand and the tape worked well in lifting the facia from my swollen knee and ankle to assist with healing. I have had less swelling than ever. I have a torn ligament to my knee and arthritis in my feet and ankles. The tape really works in reducing swelling and pain. I too has some skin irritation when placing the pink tape along my shoulder, but no problems on the legs, and I can leave it on up to 4 days! I think I started a trend at the office.
