I don't have much to add to what others have written here. The long arm makes it easy to smear lotion on one's back with some practice. I wanted to apply self-tanner lotion on my back - the hardest place to reach when attempting an even fake tan! The padding is firm but feels fine on my skin. Instead of applying with a back-scratching/scratcher motion, here is the process I found to work for me: a) apply glob of lotion on pad b) smear lotion around evenly on pad c) start with middle of back and work lotion in by swiping in one direction from center of back and out. Pulling worked better than pushing! I washed the pad with a gentle soap and rinsed quickly after use, and still no fake tan discoloration even on this white pad - which shows me how unique it is in being non-absorbent. I bought this applicator and a similar design (but more expensive)by Aquabella and definitely liked the Kingsley one better. The pad curves better to lie flatter on my back than does the one by Aquabella. The Aquabella seems slightly better made but it just didn't fit my back. I use a little soap and warm water to wash off the pad and hang it handle down to let all the water drain from the pad. I think I'll need to eventually re-glue the pad onto the handle, but that's not a big deal, given the low cost of the applicator. I like that the pad is non-absorbent and learned quickly just how much lotion to apply to the pad so I could get it all rubbed in. I've used this applicator for both lotions and heavier creams, and it works well for both. I'll definitely buy another one!Customer Review: Didn't work for me

I got really frustrated with this applicator. It's pretty cheaply made, nothing more than a foam sponge on a stick, but that would be ok if it worked. I put the lotion on the sponge and rubbed it on my back. Here's the problem: most of the lotion globs on the first area and then you have to rub, rub, rub to get the lotion to spread to the rest of your back. I suppose I could put a little bit of lotion on the applicator, spread on one area and keep repeating, but who wants to do that? Not me. I will go back to using roller-ball applicators, they works much, much better in my opinion. Also wanted to point out that I had got a stain on the back of my shirt, I think because one area of my back had too much lotion from this applicator not spreading it out.Customer Review: My back said ahhhhhh!

This is a great product. I wish the handle were a little thinner. I think that would make it a little easier to use but I have small hands so maybe that's not a problem for others. Other than that, I love this!! The pad does not absorb any of the lotion but the lotion stays put (doesn't run off) until you rub the pad against your back. I was concerned about that since I had no idea what kind of pad would be on this. It took a little getting used to to use it effectively. It is easier if you start low and work your way up. It's also much easier standing. It also came with a thick plastic cover for the pad part. I like that - keeps it clean. I highly recommend this.Customer Review: Great Product!

I bought two of these about a month ago. Gave one to my girlfriend and kept one for myself. We agree that it is a great product at a reasonable price. If you don't have someone available to put lotion on your back, this is the tool for you. It is easy to use and easy to clean. Just put a dab of lotion on the pad. Smear it around a little to even it out and warm it up. Works best to move it around in small circles until you have covered all of the hard to reach areas. We love 'em. My girlfriend has ordered one for her mom.
