Customer Reviews of Lansinoh 20435 Breastmilk Storage Bags, 25-Count Boxes (Pack of 4)

Customer Review: These are the best bags out there, but they still aren't good enough
Summary: 2 Stars

I chose these bags partly because of the reviews that I read on this website and because they made economic sense. I gave birth to a premature infant who was unable to breastfeed. I have pumped everyday btwn 6-8 times a day since she was born and was blessed to have an ample milk supply. However, when thawing these bags out I found that I was losing sometimes 4 and 5 bags of at a time due to leakage not from the double seal at the top, but from a seam at the bottom. I later tried some of the other bags out there and found that yes, these bags are better than their competitors, but they were not good enough for me. I have worked way too hard to provide my child with nourishment only to have it leak all over the place. My solution was to use bottles. They too have disadvantages (take up more room in the freezer), but I feel that they are a better choice.

Customer Review: Leaking! Don't buy
Summary: 1 Stars

These bags leak and are not worth buying. I've stored lots of milk, the first couple hundred ounces in the Lansinoh bags. I then switched to the milk trays for no other reason than they sounded like a good idea. Now when I go to thaw the bags I'm finding that a majority of them are leaking. I run them under warm water, cut the top off and put them in a ziploc bag to thaw overnight. I don't want to waste all of that milk that I spent pumping over the last few months!

Do not buy this brand of bags. I have the Sensible Lines milk trays which are pretty nifty! You freeze milk sticks in one ounce portions (we call them milk pops) and thaw them as you need them. It prevents a lot of waste. The only thing is that they aren't totally convenient when you thaw more than 5 or 6 sticks at a time. They don't fit in the bottle that great...

Customer Review: Lansinoh Breastmilk storage bags
Summary: 4 Stars

I find these especially useful and purchased them for their BPA-free traits. I use them not only for freezer storage but also in the refrigerator and for travel. Yes, they do no accurately measure the amount of breast milk contained, however I make a point to always freeze 6 ounces based on my pump container. I like to freeze them flat so that they are stackable both horizontally as well as vertically. The double seal is very nice. I have not had any leaks or breaks and find them sturdy and flexible. Also, the space alloted for writing is easy to write on and normal ink pens work perfectly, gel pens tend to smudge a bit. It is easy and quick to thaw and reheat milk in the bag.
My only complaint is that they are difficult to open and hold one handed. This can be somewhat problematic when trying to transfer breast milk.

Customer Review: LEAK! We lost 30-40oz of pumped milk, many hours of my wife's labor and our babies food.
Summary: 1 Stars

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PRODUCTS FROM Lanishoh.

I am absolutely disgusted with this company and their products. We've lost 30-40oz of pumped milk. We always filled the bags to the correct maximum, and evened out bags that were over-full. We kept the bags in a safe freezer that was solely used for the storage of milk. There was no damage, the was no miss handling. Yet, several bags have leaked, the first few caused a huge mess which was just insult to injury. This is food that my daughter will not be able to eat, this is effort and loss of sleep and pain that my wife went through to extract that lost milk. I am absolutely outraged with this company and their defective products.

Considering the number of complaints of leaking I wonder if there's sufficient grounds for a class action lawsuit against Lanishoh.

Customer Review: These are the best storage bags out there.
Summary: 5 Stars

My friends and I have tried all brands of milk storage bags and agree that these are the best.

Lansinoh bags have 2 ziplock strips at the top and are quite a bit thicker than Gerber bags. Both are self-standing, but when you freeze them standing up, you get a sphere of frozen breastmilk at the bottom of the bag.

I freeze all of my Lansinoh bags laying flat. They are easier to store and, with a larger surface area for the milk, freeze quicker and more evenly. With a flat pouch of milk it's easy to flip through a bunch and pick out the appropriate bag to defrost.

I never even tried the Medela CSF bags as there's no ziplock (just twist-ties) and, thus, no way to freeze flat. My friends have tried them and prefer the Lansinoh.
