After reading various reviews that lamented seat cushoins going flat after a week or so of sitting on them, I decided I wanted longevity so ordered the extra firm cushion. It fits perfectly in my 2008 Dodge Caravan driver's seat and levels it out so I do not have constant back pain. It is a bit too wide for my 2001 Ford Focus seat but defionitely helps adjust the sitting angle. You do gain a few inches of height sitting on the cusion so if you are tall (I'm not which is why the seats do not fit me well) you may hit the roof. It was recommended for people over 150 pounds (I am right around that) and is not the softest cusion but I need it to fill in the low angle of my seat to make it level, not cushion me. If it eventually gets too soft, I will need to purchase another one.
I aggravated an old back injury and after months of weekly chiropractic was still not doing better so I took a good look at where I sit most - my office chair and the work van I drive. Neither allowed me to adjust them so my knees were at a 90 degree angle, hence the constant low back pain. Relief was almost instant and I have been able to stay mostly pain free and only visit the chiropractor monthly since I purchased the cushion.

March 2009 my husband injured a disk herniated or bulging (MRI couldn't tell for sure) between L5 and the sacrum. The more he sits, the more pain he has shooting down his leg. Since he is an I.T. guy this is a real problem. I searched everywhere for some type of solution and after reading lots of reviews, thought I would try this one because of the cut out where the spine would be. After arriving I think it sat for weeks because he was frankly a little embarrassed about sitting on a pillow. Finely one day when the pain was bad enough I asked him to just take it to work and see if it helped. He has not gone without it since then. He takes it everywhere - in the car, to church, to work. If he forgets it, we go back for it. The difference in comfort for him is amazing. It is firm and doesn't seem to have lost it's shape. The fact that the front narrows causing less pressure on the back of the legs seems to make a big difference in comfort. If you have a back injury with pain shooting down one leg, I think this is definitely worth a try. It is not going to fix the problem but it sure seems to allow sitting more comfortably for longer periods.Customer Review: very hard, cut-out too big

I ordered this because my car seat is very uncomfortable and has an angle that was causing pain in my sciatica. So I needed a wedge shape to even the seat out. This is a quality product but the FIRM cushion is too hard and tall. Also, the cut-out is just too big. I wish there was no cut-out actually. I will be returning this, even though there are no free returns on this product and they charge 10% restocking fee. I had also purchased a soft contour wedge cushion from Amazon and that one works very well, although I had to turn it over for more comfortable seating in my car. So, if you like to be raised high and have a hard cushion, this might work for you. But the cut-out is just too big and I felt it in my butt the whole time. The company should offer a cushion without a cut-out. I am 5 foot 7, 155 lbs guy. Also keep in mind that the return policy on this is very strict and you will pay for shipping both ways plus the 10% restocking. I give this 2 stars because it looks like it would last and has an attractive appearance.Customer Review: I love it!

I absolutely loved this cushion the minute I sat down. In Nov.'10, I started my own home business. During start up,I spent 6-10 hours a day at my computer. I was not used to sitting down that many hours. My tail bone began to resent the long hours. Over the last 4 months, I purchased many chair pillows, followed by head pillows. At one time I had 3 pillows on my computer chair. Then, when I wanted to go watch television, I had to bring all the pillows with me. I was taking lots of ibuprofen to block that tailbone pain. Sick of sitting in pain, I went online and did a search for better chair pillows. I did a week of searching. The reviews for the Tush Cush led me to buy it. The very minute I sat down on the Tush Cush, that aching pain I had for months was gone. I was ecstatic! I had to review this cushion right away so others will know that it works wonderfully. I'm hoping it doesn't flatten too soon. It's sturdy and it doesn't move when I get up... I can sit right back down without readjusting.

This is my second Tush Cush seat cushion and it is exactly what I needed. (I accidently left my first one on a train in France, which made the flight back home more uncomfortable than usual.) I have a tailbone that's sensitive to sitting for long periods of time, so this is perfect for car or air travel. The strap across the opening keeps the cushion from spreading out underneath me, makes it easy to carry and it also makes it possible for me to fit it over the handle of my rolling carry-on so I don't need both hands for carrying things through the airport. One thing I'm going to do with my new Tush Cush is buy a cord to attach to my belt loop and the cushion so I don't accidently leave it behind again. (But just in case, I bought 2 Tush Cushes this time!)
I noticed some reviews complain that it's too hard. I'm 5'3" and 120 lb. so I don't exert alot of pressure on it, but I think the density is perfect. I had another brand cushion and was very disappointed in its "mushiness".
