We once again had to deal with head lice & after the intial treatment we used the 'Robi Comb' on the dried hair (you do have to make sure the hair is completely dry all the way down to the roots). It did what it says it does and it was amazing to see! I did cringe when the buzzing stopped for a second (the comb emitts a low buzzing sound until it comes in contact with an nymph or adult lice, at that point it stuns them and takes it out of the hair)I am not relying on this comb alone but am also using a regular lice comb.
By the next day my daughters head was clean. We will continue to use our homemade 'non-toxic' lice shampoo & comb thru the hair for the next 10 days. But I am so glad we have the 'Robi Comb', it's like getting a second opinion!

I thought I'd give this a try after reading both negative and positive reviews. I'm really too busy to leave these reviews but I'm so disappointed in this product, thought I'd save another mom some time. This product doesn't work at all. I literally dragged it over visible nits and nothing happened - it didn't even pull them out. What's worse, the company doesn't make returns easy. Their website says no returns after 7 days of receiving the product, then you have to call first - big pain. I'm still going to try to return this. Maybe it works if your child has baby fine hair or something. I don't understand the reviews that say this thing works. I'd say try it if the company made it easy to return but they don't. To be clear, this product works on live lice, not nits. And when it encounters a lice, it does kill, or at least, stun it.
But the device is cantankerous. It turns off frequently and has to be cleaned each time with the little brush to turn on again. Even with clean tines, it is still difficult to get it to turn back on or keep it from sputtering.
It's really best to start irradication by knocking out as much as possible with a shampoo. (Licefreee worked extremely well on both lice AND nits - and is non toxic.) For follow-up treatment, if a second person is available, manual inspection should suffice, negating the need for this device. But if a second person is not available, this device is probably worthwhile.

I have a love-hate relationship with the Robi Comb. I think it helped me conquer a lice infestation. It's particularly good at pulling out and alerting me to tiny nymphs that I would have missed on a visual inspection. And when it zaps the lice, it's good to know if I don't get the bugs off the child's head, they're dead and can't bite or reproduce. HOWEVER, I suspected that my kids were reinfested so ran the RobiComb through their hair. Not a blip in the buzzing, so I thought we were home free. Not so! Something was WRONG with Mr. RobiComb, because I checked again later with an ordinary metal lice comb and found lots o'little licey. I got a new rOBIComb and use it, but in conjunction with traditional, non-electric metal combs.Customer Review: Spectacular!

Last year my toddler daughters both got lice. We tried all of the shampoos, combs, and sprays, and spent countless hours scrubbing and steam cleaning everything in our house. Somehow, the lice kept coming back. I saw this comb, and I figured the price was about the same as one lice treatment. I tried it as a last resort, fully expecting to be let down.I wish I would have skipped all of the shampoos! No chemicals, no fuss, no cranky kids! I couldn't believe how well this thing worked. In one week I was able to completely eradicate those little pests. Now I use the comb periodically just to prevent a new infestation.This is truly one of the best purchases I have ever made. I have recommended it to everyone I know!
