Customer Reviews of Listerine Whitening-Instant Dissolving Whitening Strips, 56 Strips (Short Dated)

Customer Review: I was skeptical, but it works!
Summary: 5 Stars

Pros:

-Comes with 56 strips.
-Individually wrapped, easy to apply and don't fall off.
-Works pretty well so far.

Cons:

-Initially some tooth/gum related pain.
-Some of the packages can be annoying to open.

I decided to try the Listerine Whitening strips, since they looked like a tempting new product, plus they were more competitively priced. I'm not sure what the hydrogen peroxide contents of these are, but initially I did have some of the associated tooth/gum pain. It felt like pain associated with a cavity, but worse. So I stopped treatment, and did the treatment a little slower. The pain only happened once, and I've since upped the treatment back two twice a day without problems.

The strips are individually wrapped, and are easy to apply. Make sure you follow the directions though! The cleaning material is only on one side of the strip, so make sure you align the notch correctly when applying the strip. **For the reviewer below who mentioned that the strips wouldn't stay on, you probably didn't orient them in the correct direction. I also had that problem, until I checked the box and saw my notches weren't lined up.**

You leave it on for about 10 minutes, and afterwards, brush off the excess. I wasn't a heavy coffee drinker before this, so my teeth just had some yellowish-ness around the base of the teeth. Now, after just a week, my teeth look great in pictures, and upon examination in the mirror, the yellowish-ness is much reduced!

Can't wait to see the results after 2 weeks. Good thing there are plenty of extra strips included as well to continue the treatment.

Customer Review: Are You Kidding Me?
Summary: 5 Stars

Okay, i use Listerine Whitening strips almost religiously now. I am a bzzagent ([...]) A bzzagent is a word of mouth person. Basically, you will be sent a bzzkit with things in it (For my listerine bzzkit i received an entire box of the whitening strips, coupons and literature on the strips) Then what you do is try it yourself, share it with friends and report back to bzz letting them know of your experiences Good, or bad.

When i initially tried the listerine strips (first time) i opened the package easily enough, pulled out the strip and placed them on.. Done. I had no problem with it ripping, but that may be because i use the little pulltab, then i open the package up before pulling out the strip. I didn't have any problems with it sticking to my fingers, and if your lips are mostly dry (IE: Not Licked) it won't really stick to them.

The product actually works. I did notice that i had a very strong taste on my first set of strips but i realized later that i had put it on backwards. Maybe the people shouting that they hate the taste should follow the back of the strips.. there is a certain way regarding the cut in the strip to put them on. The taste goes away if they are situated correctly.

For the people who can't seem to get the package opened correctly.. use scissors if you must. Like i said, when i open mine, 3 edges are opened so that i can easily get to the strip without stretching/tearing it.

Its really a great product and im glad that i received it in a bzz kit, because i wouldn't have tried it. I've since paid for 8 boxes and thats when they were more expensive than the current [...]$.

Customer Review: Awesome Product-Some Gum Burn
Summary: 4 Stars

Short Review: This product s excellent and well made. I saw relatively instant results after my second application of this product. Unlike the aquafresh trays which is a complete and total mess, although quite effective, this product is easy to apply and will dissolve in about 10-15 minutes. My teeth are super bright. A good regiment to follow, and something that I do is: Daytime- 1)Use the Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush Rinse for 60 secs, 2)***Brush with any aquafresh toothpaste (for best results, use the enamel strengthener edition 4-minutes, 2 for the bottom row, 2 for the top)***, 3)Rinse with Advanced Listerine Antiseptic with Tartar Control, and finally 4) apply the Listerine Whitening Strips. Nighttime- Apply all the steps listed in the "daytime" section of this review but FLOSS FIRST!. For those of you who are not big on taking care of your teeth or simply flossing at least once a day, I recommend that you allow time after you rinse your teeth to put on the listerine disolving strips and this would burn your gums so much, YOU WILL CRY! like I did. Enjoy! And please understand that the steps listed above are steps and product that I found to be most effective for my teeth. Others may find that these steps are unnecessary or to long. Whatever you may feel, understand that this is simply my personal review and experience with this product and that I, in no way, am a medical expert of any sort. In fact I'm a jazz musician who lives in NY and works during the day at the greatest company anyone could ever work at.

***I believe that this toothpaste is the best but you could use any brand.***

Customer Review: Great and conveinient
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading some of the reviews, I decided to add my own. These strips work great and after the use of the full box, there is a noticeable difference.

Most of the complaints refer to two things:
- the difficulty opening the package
- the difficulty getting them on your teeth
1. I can see why some have trouble with the package, but unless you have no finesse whatsoever or have problems opening a bag of chips without spilling them all over the floor, I think people are being a bit ridiculous. Out of the whole box, there was only one that I ripped part of the strip, but I was still able to use it.
2. I have not had ANY problems getting them on my teeth. I aim so that they cover my gums just a tad since the strip is more than large enough to do that. I don't have particularly large teeth or lips, so if you have either of the two, you might want to try it out first.

Overall, the best thing about these is the convenience. In the morning I put it on before heading out for the day and it dissolves as I'm in the car without the hassle of trying to find a way to throw it out. At night, I just wear them to sleep. The taste is a bit minty which is fine to me and doesn't bother me. As for the little film that is left in your mouth afterwards, sometimes it just goes away before I know it; otherwise I just quickly use my tongue to get rid of it. Great product, highly recommended for people who want something that works and doesn't find themselves needing to complain about every little thing.

Customer Review: Far and away the most useless tooth whitener available
Summary: 1 Stars

My experience with these seems to be pretty common. I'll just list off several reasons why these SUCK.

1) It has little tears in the side of the packaging so you can easily rip them open just like crest white strips do. Convenient, right? Hardly with these! Out of the 6 strips I opened (before I gave up out of disgust), not a single one came out right. EVERY single time I ripped them open using the tears, they wound up tearing the strips as well, usually just along the edge.

2) As everyone else said, these are down right impossible to get on. I tried putting them on my lower teeth first as per the suggestions. Good luck! Unless you can somehow fold your lips down, maybe you could put these on.. I tried moving my lips out of the way as much as I could but every single time I tried, the strip would touch a part of my lip and game over - if you try moving it at that point, it just begins to tear and deform. Once they're on your teeth, they can't be repositioned at all. They just begin stretching and deforming. It's horrible.

3) They taste like crap. Usually not a complaint, but they market these as tasting fresh and great. I'd hardly say they taste good. It tastes exactly what they did - adding some minty flavor on top of a horrifically bad taste. The result? Not pleasant.

Simply put, I spent about $30 on garbage. I can't even get the strips on to tell you how well or poorly they whiten.
