I've suffered from SAD most of my life. A few years ago I tried Zoloft and really didn't like the side effects. I had been tempted to try light therapy but never did. I didn't like the thought of having to keep a light in one spot in the house and then spend hours in front of it. The SAD came on early this year and I knew I had to do something. After reviewing many lights I chose this one because it's so portable. What a difference it has made in my life. I just wish I had had this years ago. I purchased the Litebook Elite Hand-Held Light Therapy Device and Love it.
It is light weight, portable, and small in size. You can take it with you anywhere. Although it is small, it delivers as much light as one of the large desk size units. It evens comes with a nice carrying case and adapters for recharging the battery. I work in a sleep disorders center and have started recommending this product to patients.

My husband purchased the Litebook Elite Hand-Held Therapy Device to alleviate my symptoms of SADS. The unit is extremely easy to use, and I find it boosts my energy after only 30 minutes. However, the light does not seem to improve my depressed mood. The effects equal drinking extra coffee without getting the harmful caffeine. Thus, I am not certain the benefits of this light warrant its cost.Customer Review: So far so good

I just received this product today while I was at work in my tiny cubicle in an in-bound call center. I turned it on and put it at 15 minutes, since its still morning time. I have to say that I feel more awake already and feel in a pretty good mood strangely enough! SAD is the absolute worst. I bought the litebook for the few weeks before I'd be able to get medication for the depression, but the light therapy gave me such fantastic results that it's all I need. I use it for 30 minutes when I first wake up, and I'm more energetic, healthier, and happier.
