THIS IS A PERFECT MONITOR FOR THE PERSON THAT WANTS A MONITOR THAT EITHER DOESN'T WORK OR CONSISTANTLY INACURATELY SHOWS YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE AT STROKE LEVELS. THE FIRST LUMISCOPE 1143 THAT WAS SENT TO ME WOULDN'T EVEN TURN ON WHEN NEW BATTERIES WERE IN THE DEVICE. I TESTED THE SECOND DEVICE OVER A THREE DAY PERIOD. IT CONSISTANTLY DELIVERED PRESSURE READINGS THAT WERE IN STROKE LEVEL. I CALLED MY DOCTOR AND HE HAD ME COME TO HIS OFFICE. HE TESTED ME USING HIS EQUIPMENT. IT SHOWED NORMAL READINGS. THEN WE USED THE LUMISCOPE. THE LUMISCOPE'S READING WAS STROKE LEVEL. HE RECOMENDED ONLY USEING ONLY MONITORS WITH CUFFS THAT FIT OVER THE UPPER ARM.Customer Review: Save your money

I don't normally bother to write reviews but Amazon emailed me and asked me to review it.
On the face of it this device works perfectly but here is my experience with it.
I can take two readings right after each other and the first will be like 195/95 and the second will be 160/78. There is a similar disparity between left and right wrists. So I have concluded, as my doctor warned me, when I said I was thinking of buying one, that wrist ones are not very reliable.

IF you are looking for accurracy, a true BP reading, a potential early warning life saving device, then the lumiscope 1143 automatic blood pressure monitor is NOT it. This product has been consistant, unfortunately it is consistantly WRONG! The only real value I found with this device is the batteries that came with it.
Move on to a product that is accurate and worth the money.
Do not let the one star fool you, I had to rate it before it would publish.

I am a student dentist and rely on this product daily to take accurate readings. I used this product for 2 weeks straight and verified it with a manual blood pressure cuff. It was consistently over by 10-30 on both systolic and diastolic. At least the pulse rate was correct. So if you are looking for a product that will make you health conscious and force you to believe that you have high blood pressure, then this is the product for you.Customer Review: Lumiscope 1143, a great product!

The Lumiscope 1143 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor is a very user friendly product. It has a memory that allows the user to save 100 blood pressure readings, which eliminates the need to keep a journal. The storage case is perfect for taking the device to the gym or carrying in a back pack. If you have the need to check your heart rate or blood pressure, I would highly suggest the Lumiscope 1143.
