Customer Reviews of Lumiscope Finger Blood Pressure Monitor Model 1083NCustomer Review: useful for relative comparisions Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this for my 98 year old mother who works very hard to control her hypertension. She loves it because she can take her own blood pressure anytime she wishes. Once she settled in on a routine the monitor gave usefully consistent readings. While it was not precisely accurate, it was consistent in the way it was inaccurate (about 10 points low on both s&d). This consistency allows her to take note of unusual changes in her blood pressure. If she gets an unusal reading she always repeats the measure after 15 minutes to verify. With arthritis in her hands she would not be able to use an arm or wrist device.
Customer Review: I use it for more than 7 years and it's still very accurate! Summary: 5 Stars
I own the model 1083 since dec. 1997 and it it still accurate. I check it regularly with my doctor, he was astonished about the accuracy (he used it some weeks in his practice). However there are some some don'ts:
Don't use it on cold hands/fingers, don't use it with short interval and yes DO read the manual, keep it steady on the right spot!
It is a pitty that you can't get it here in the Netherlands. It was sent to me by a specialist (MD) from the USA.
Customer Review: Lousy accuracy, nice function Summary: 1 Stars
Any of these finger units are notoriously inaccurate. I've tried 2 including this one. I went back to a self inflating arm cuff unit. The accuracy STINKS and is very errattic. Anyone who tells you different has an agenda. Ask your doctor. Compare at your doctors. Whatever. Then add that experience with your own. When you do it 3 times and the reading is all over the place but your arm cuff is derad on, what's your conclusion?
Customer Review: Love my Lumiscope Summary: 5 Stars
So simple to use and very reliable. When it first arrived, I had it checked and calibrated at my hospital and they gave it the thumbs up. I don't have hypertension but did have one occasion when my blood pressure peaked for no apparent reason to nearly 200, so I wanted an inexpensive and easy to use apparatus for home. Definitely a "must buy" if you want to keep tabs on your blood pressure.
Customer Review: Useless... Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this in September...moitored my heart for four months only to find that the doctor's office is the only reliable monitor. I was getting consistent readings of 110/68...when my actual blood pressure is 140/94......Hmmmmm!!!
This toy is useless enough to give you ...high blood pressure! Any thoughts on how I can return it and get my money back would be appreciated.
