I purchased a black one from my salon. The first 1 was defective and they replaced for me. This is a detailer, allowing you to take very small sections of hair to straighten very close to the root. For the rest of your hair, a standard size iron is required. (Unless you have a short style). There is no temperature control, however I believe this is 400 Watts and is just right.
