OH GOOD GRIEF!!! Now who would imagine "soap nuts"!?? I laughed but decided to try this product based on the reviews of others who have used it. I live in 2 areas of the country; Nevada and Texas. I have city water in NV and well water in TX. I have NEVER used a product that works this well with either type of water. I do not have to use fabric softener....I wouldn't have believed that! The soap nuts clean amazingly and my laundry has a delightful scent. My friend has a washer-dryer (single unit); the liquid handled her laundry beautifully.
This is a GREAT product....when I'm through washing....off to the compost pile go the nuts. No waste with this product!

Don't be fooled by some of the poor reviews, this stuff works, and it works well. It's true that best results are obtained with warm or hot washes in a front loader machine, however if you need to wash delicate's or wish to use a cold wash, then why not make a "tea" from the soap nuts, either boil a couple of them in a pot or let them steep in some boiling water until cold, then add the cold "tea" to the machine and wash as usual. You'll love the results; clean, fresh, soft, non-irritating and static free, good for people, good for pets and good for the environment. Soap nuts are great - they are completely natural and they clean your clothing - just as advertised. But ecological options should be offered at fair prices so everyone can afford these natural options. NaturOli (Who also advertises on Amazon.com) offers soap nuts at much better and economical prices! ($9.75 will buy you 30 - 40 loads worth of nuts AND they have a 20% discount available on that price right now!) It just killed me in everyone's reviews to see that price was an issue on buying and using soap nuts - because going natural shouldn't and doesn't have to be expensive.Customer Review: Best soap I ever used

Soap Nuts are wonderful! I bought a small box the first time I purchased them in case I didn't like them but I am about to order them by the kilo. They clean the clothes great. If I have spots I do treat them first. My son has a susceptibility to skin allergies so I wash all the sheets in these too. The first load I ran there was no fragrance but you get used to that..it cleans the clothes nicely. I did the research on the chemicals in my Tide and that made me change.Customer Review: Fluffiest Towels

These are the only soap nuts I've tried, so I can't compare brands. However, I can attest that these soap nuts resulted in the fluffiest towels ever, even with no fabric softener. The colors even seem brighter and the smell is neutral and great (even removed potty-training and dish-rag stink.) They have not bothered my family's sensitive skin, either. My only concern is that the soap nuts alone do not remove stains well, especially on whites.
