Customer Review: I Cannot Believe this Worked But it Did

I got this for my 6 year old son last fall, and it worked for us. He has been off it for 2 months, now. They say to use it until you have 14 dry nights in a row. It took nine weeks. But, it really was wonderful. It took 6 days of him being fully wet and the alarm blaring until he could stop mid-stream and get to the bathroom to finish. After those first 6 days, if he had an accident, the alarm would wake him up, and he would stop himself and get to the bathroom. This meant that only his underwear and maybe his pajamas got wet (usually it was like a spot the size of a quarter) and NOT HIS BED!!! My life got so much easier. We had to buy a new baby monitor so I could hear his alarm go off and help him. (Our bedroom is very far away from his.) I didn't mind that so much, if it meant no wet bed. And the new baby monitor is so nice. They're digital now, and crystal clear. I can't believe the thing (the bed wetting alarm) actually worked. And, if he ever has a relapse in the future, he goes back on it. That makes me feel good, too. Because in his life, he had dry periods for months, sometimes, and then started having accidents again. We have a 13 year old son who has had a problem with night time wetting all his life. We tried medication with limited success. He had a bladder procedure which did absolutely no good. He is getting old enough that the night wetting really affected his sleep and attitude in school.
This monitor started to help him within a few days. It has been a month, and he is having consecuitive dry nights. It has really helped him to sleep at night. We are also seeing a drastic change (for the better) in him at school. To think we were considering a questionable and expensive surgery, I am so glad that we went this route. If nothing else, this monitor has paid for itself in the savings on buying no more abosorbant night pants.
One note about a previous review. Somebody recommended a room monitor. I would hold off on it. We purchased it, but it has proven unnecessary for us. Your child may be different. For us, the alarm on this unit woke him up to the point that we never heard the alarm. I recommend that you follow up with your child, check the sheets, be positive and reward the good efforts as the alarm helps you. It has really been very successful for us.

When the pediatrician recommended a pee monitor for my 5yo boy, I was very against it. But after months of trying no diapers at bedtime, I relented. I did a lot of research and decided on the Malem Ultimate in Camo.
The primary reason I chose this model is because I thought my child may be more likely to embrace the camo design.
Upon arrival, I explained to him why we are using the device and how it worked. To my surprise, he completely was on board. In fact, he looked forward to putting it on at night. We used the monitor with underwear and a bed pad above the sheet. At start, he wet the bed 3 times per night. After 3 weeks, he was completely pee free. He wore it for another 2 weeks.
My child sleeps so sound, I never imagined this would work. But now he gets out of bed and goes pee at 1am with no problem.
Suggestions from my research and experience:
Make sure they wear it every night
Do not show them how to turn it off
Do not turn it off until they have stepped out of bed
Get one that vibrates and makes sounds. Multi-sounds not really necessary
Prepare not to get any sleep

I was skeptical at first, but desperate to find something that worked. Changing sheets was a daily chore at our house. My son would wake up soaked from head to toe every single morning, even with a pull up on. I didn't expect a miracle, but I thought even if it helped a little, that would be enough. The process did take us around 10 weeks, but the amazing thing was that we saw tremendous progress in the very first week. We had enough success in the first few days that he immediately woke up to the pager and finished urinating in the bathroom. No more wet sheets that first week. - only slightly damp underwear to change. The only reason it took 10 weeks is because we would have mostly dry nights, and when we would get close to going the full 2 weeks without an accident, he would have 1 very minor setback... and so we would have to start the process again. But now, after 10 weeks, I can honestly say that the pager worked 100% and my son is now completely accident free each and every night! He has not worn the pager for around a month now, and has not had even one accident! This was the best money I have ever spent!Customer Review: The only thing that worked!!

My daughter is 12 and 1/2 and was utterly devastated that she could not remain dry. We took her to the doctor and tried medicine numerous times, but nothing worked. We were just about to take her to a specialist, but before putting her through embarrassing, painful tests, we decided to try this alarm. What a relief!! It took her about 12 weeks, but given her age and modesty, she did everything by herself. She is so happy and relieved now that she has been dry for the past 2 months. She is even able to drink right before bedtime now, something we rarely let her do before. Take my advice, buy this alarm. It may be pricey, but it is totally worth it, especially if you have to buy numerous packages of pull-ups; you will eventually recoup your money for this alarm by the amount of money you will save by not buying pull ups any longer.
