This is great I have ipod nano 3rd gen the short fat video ipod. This battery pack lasted a 18 hour flight from LAX to Bangladesh, and about 2 days of nightly usage once I got there. Press the white button and blue led meter will show how much AA batt life you got. Remember charge your ipod to the max before you go. This is not a charger, but instead a battery life extender.You ipod battery meter will slowly start to go down, but it would take like 3 weeks for it to go down to nothing using this device. Only problem is that it is bulky, but bottom line it works!Customer Review: Beware

This little battery pack used to be great and did exactly as it described, works excellently on long journeys. Now, here's the RUB, I have a fifth gen 30gb IPOD and I updated it when prompted on iTunes a few weeks ago now when I plug my Maxell battery pack in it says it is now not supported and will not work anymore. I am less than impressed with Apple and their dumb update, I want to find a way where I can revert back to the original version I had. If you have one of these and intend to update your iPod on ITunes you have been warned.Customer Review: Good backup battery pack

I bought this mainly because I have some flights coming up. For this purpose, the device does what it's designed to do. The other thing I like about the thing is that it uses regular AA batteries, which one can practically purchase anywhere. I do not like the other rechargeable solutions because one needs a power source to get extra capacity. The one thing that I do not like about this battery pack is that the connector is for an iPod only; I wish that it has a USB connector so that I can use it for other portable devices as well.Customer Review: Served its purpose

This worked great with my video ipod, even though the description said it was not compatible. The suction cub keeps in place and doesn't wiggle. I was on a 6 hour plane ride and my ipod will only show one movie before the battery dies. I used this back up and I watched an addition 3 movies and still have a great battery charge. This item even stood up to the abuse of a three year old. It was dropped several times and tossed around...and it still works. I haven't even changed the batteries once. I bought this battery pack for my wife's iTouch, specifically for long plane rides where the internal battery pack won't suffice while watching movies. The Maxell battery pack gave us about 8 or 9 hours of extra video time, which was just a little less than I was expecting, but still great. So with the extra 8 hours we were able to watch video for a total of about 13 hours. And just to reinforce what others have said, this battery pack does NOT charge your iTouch internal battery. It is simply an external power source.
