Customer Reviews of Maxell P-2 2-G Rechargeable Back-Up Battery Pack

Customer Review: Maxell P-2 2-G Rechargeable Back-Up Battery Pack
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a simple, easy to use device that adds many hours of play time to your iPod using 4 standard AA batteries. I bought it because I will be traveling to Europe in September and want to be able to view movies and listen to music without concern for battery life and this seemed like the ticket. The small amount I've used it already shows me that it's just what I wanted. If after traveling, I see any problems, I'll come back and revise this review.

Customer Review: Doesn't work with Touch 2g
Summary: 1 Stars

After reading the reviews i thought that this would work with my ipod touch 2g, however it is incompatiable, i tested it just to make sure for 4 hours and it didn't work. I instead went with a USB charger that works will all ipods; its made by duracell, plus you get the batteries and a car charger. Why can't all companies make products as intutive as duracell's. Here is the description for those shoppers out there, Duracell Mobile Charger CEF23DX4N.

Customer Review: Cool product!
Summary: 5 Stars

Only had the unit for about an hour; I have a second-generation iPod (10 gigs) and the unit works perfectly (instructions say it is not compatable with the mini). Price was good, battery vs. rechargable pack is a minor concern, and the unit does doubles the iPod size and probably tripples the weight, but that wasn't one of my concerns, just battery life. Expecting the 15-20 hours as per the manufacture, and will re-post if not happy.

Customer Review: Worked on my previous IPod
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this for my 2006 iPod Video and it worked great - held up on 10 hour flights, etc. Then my iPod Video died and I got what I thought was the same exact iPod (August 2007, Software Version 1.2.1) and when I tried to attach the Maxell Battery Pack, my iPod tells me that it's not compatible!
I'm mad at Apple for doing this, but I'd love to know what Battery Pack will work, now that I have a useless Maxell one.

Customer Review: Great power supply when you can't plug in
Summary: 5 Stars

The Maxell iPod battery pack did everything as promised. I like the fact that it has lights indicating when the batteries are getting low. I used it on my flight back and forth from Europe and never even broke out the second set of batteries. It's bulky, but I was only using it on the airplane so that didn't matter. I would recommend it for anyone unsure about plugging in their iPod in a foreign country.
