I purchased this clock along with one that looks very similar, but has a power supply to it.Your. Minder Personal Alarm Clock With Power Supply - Record up to (6) of Your OWN Alarm Messages I wasn't able to record voice alarms with this particular clock which is what I really needed for my 92 year old grandfather with dementia. Instead, it allows you to create several alarms to remind you to take your pills. The clock has a lady voice that says it's time to take your pills. The other clock that I mention goes a step further and allows you to create your OWN voice recordings, so if you need to be reminded of pills and a different activity, you have the option to record whatever for your reminder. If you only need a pill reminder and you don't mind a battery clock, then I highly recommend this clock. I purchased this little clock for my 85 year old mother who was getting confused about whether it was night or day and sometimes forgetting to take her pills or forgetting that she had taken them and taking them again. Sometimes she'd take her morning pills at night or the night pills in the morning. This little clock has been very helpful. If she gets confused about whether it's a.m. or p.m. she pushes the green button and it verbally tells her "Good morning, it's 10:00 a.m." or "Good afternoon, it's 2:30 p.m." I've set alarms to go off when she is supposed to take her medications so it reminds her to take her morning pills or her evening pills. I tried a couple other CHEAPER pill reminders, all but failed over time. I like that fact it takes regular cheap AA Alkaline batteries than specialty batteries. Variable alarm/beep (4) settings or no alarm. Flip the Volume button for louder if you prefer. Normal setting was plenty LOUD for me. :) The female voice is an added bonus...hehe. She reminds me and then keeps on reminding UNTIL I TAKE THE PILLS, click it once, then she tells me my next Pill reminder Alarm/Time if set. The Screen lights up for low room lighting-schweet! Dropped it like 10 times since having a nervous condition and IT WORKED JUST FINE!Customer Review: Really has helped my mom

This product works well for anyone who has to take multiple pills, multiple times throughout the day. My mom loves the big numbers and the clear voice. She sometimes loses track of time, so this machine just gives her that extra boost to keep on schedule. It's nice that 4 alarms can be programmed, while you can turn some off and leave some on.
It would be nice if it had maybe 1 or 2 more alarm settings (it has 4). It takes a bit of practice figuring out how to set the 4 alarms with "Alarm Set" and a "+" and "-" option, but I figured it out.
Overall it's a very handy product!

Our 84-year-old mother was eager to be back in her own home after surgery. But one of the things making my sister and me uneasy was that Mom kept forgetting to take a new med that had been prescribed for her. It needed to be taken at a different time of day than her other meds, and she just couldn't seem to remember it.
We got her a Medcenter talking alarm, and that's helped tremendously. She likes the pleasant voice reminder, and we feel much more confident that Mom's taking her meds when she should. And that's crucial to her maintaining her independence.
