Customer Reviews of Megabrite LED Color Changing Night Light with Photo SensorCustomer Review: Pocket light show Summary: 5 Stars
What's not to like about LED's? They're cheap. They use only a trickle of current. They don't heat up. They're bright. They last forever. They put out pure, intense colors. And their development is still in its infancy. I have this one in my bedroom doing absolutely nothing but showing itself off. The unit lights up when the ambient light drops to a certain level and shuts down when it rises above that certain level. Unfortunately you can't defeat the shut-down process as the light sensor seems to be buried somewhere inside next to the LED's. If you plug in directly to a wall outlet, it will throw an attractive pattern of light onto the wall above it.
A friend bought half a dozen of these lights from Costco for about what Amazon is selling one light for. She puts them onto a constant color and has them scattered around her house.
For true LED fanatics, check out LEDglow here on Amazon. LEDglow makes a series of light kits for cars, such as below the dashboard, inside wheel wells, etc. Very inexpensive. I've seen them on motorcycles too.
Customer Review: The only nightlights we'll buy Summary: 5 Stars
About five years ago we bought an earlier style (5 pack) of these lights from Costco. Every one of them still works. When our youngest son moved to his own apartment, we gave three of them to him, thinking that we'd go back to Costco for another package. Costco doesn't sell them now, but we wanted no substitutes. Started searching and found that amazon had them but only as single items. Well, these lights are so much better than others that we ordered anyway. We are even happier with the new bulbs. These come on instantly, as soon as other light goes away. They put out just the right amount of light to show us the way through the house. Unless we give more of these away to another son, we expect to be set with nightlights for years. Before we found those earlier lights at Costco, the buying of nightlights was a big deal in our household. We were always looking for a newer and better product. And none of them had much of a life. Now it is as it should be. Buy them, plug them in, and forget them. We can't understand why these lights aren't more widely available.
Customer Review: Pleasantly surprised Summary: 4 Stars
The light casts a crystal-like aura which is very nice, not too dim not too bright. The color transitions are smooth and elegant. Photo sensor is excellent, it senses light accurately and turns off device when appropriate. One complaint is that when choosing one color, the light is not very bright, it's about half brightness of what it has when it cycles the colors.
Pros:
* Balanced brightness, not too bright not too dim
* Sensitive photo sensor
* Elegant light cast
* Can choose between color cycling or one color
* Good build quality
Cons
* The one-color mode has less brightness than multiple-color mode.
* Can't set brightness level
Overral it's a great product at a great price.
Customer Review: Nice but imperfection exists! Summary: 3 Stars
If we want to list the salient aspects of this model over other models by the same manufacturer, we should mention:
1. Photo Sensor
2. Push button to stop color change
3. 7 colors
4. Smooth color change
After using it for some time, it began to display and change only between THREE colors:
1. Green
2. Cyan
3. Blue
and then it turns off for a few seconds!
The other FOUR colors aren't displayed at all! Unplugging it for some hours and then plugging it back does NOT solve the problem.
I'm not sure whether mine has this problem or this is a generic issue with the device.
With that said the last two features are not there in full for me.
Customer Review: I love it and recomend it, at least try it for yourself. Summary: 5 Stars
I read through all the reviews, an I was shocked at the bad reviews. I am thinking maybe some of these or "a lot" of them were defactive or something. I have never had an issue with it, an I have owned it for a year. This is in my son's room (he is 4), and he loves being able to chose a different color every night. Works great for a kids room, because it definatly is bright (isn't that what a night light is for anyways?) My recomendation, it's only $6, you can skip is because the bad reviews, or you can buy it for yourself and see for yourself. What's the worst that can happen, your out $6? You might end up loving it like we did. I just recomended it to my sister in law for her babies nursey as well.
