Unfortunately, most of my frequented grocery stores/Target, Wal-mart type stores stopped carrying this brand so I was/am VERY happy to find this brand of chapstick on Amazon and sold in packs of 12. Drugstore.com had them in packs of 40 and even though it's the only chapstick that really works for me (been faithfully using it for more 6 years) 40 was just too many. The SPF is an active ingredient that will expire. It's not slimy, has a great, light refreshing feel from the menthol. Also works great before applying lipstick/gloss. I give a few of them away to try and influence its sales. LOVE this chapstick. On a side note the Natural Ice with SPF greater than 15 does not work as well for me (it feels thinner, a little more slick, and just doesn't stay on as long).Customer Review: Helps me keep cold sores at bay- the best lip balm!!

I have had issues with cold sores for years. This lip balm has been the only product of the many I have used to help keep the cold sores at bay. I notice I get far fewer cold sores when I use this lip balm consistently. I really like the mint and it feels so soothing on my lips. It has been hard to find in stores and I'm down to one tube so decided just to go ahead and order a pack of them for the car, travel bag, etc. The only other find that has helped me with my cold sores when I get one starting on my lip is Abreva (a treatment for cold sores)- it heals them quickly and often has stopped them from erupting. So if you struggle with cold sores, between Natural Ice and Abreva, you will have few if any instances of cold sores.Customer Review: Finding the Good Stuff

We have used Mentholatum Natural Ice Lip Balm for decades. It is not wax like Capstick, it is not Grease like Blistex. It medicates and protects when applied before being out in summer or winter. It heals chapped lips, noses, and other skin quickly. We call it the GOOD STUFF. When backpacking or Canoeing with teens and others and someone says, "Anybody have some Chapstick?" several of us who use Mentholatum Natural Ice will reply, "Let's make a convert!" Then they use Natural Ice and discover how good it truly is. The only problem is our local pharmacy that stocked Natural Ice was bought out by a chain that does not offer Natural Ice. I've been using Natural Ice since around 1996 and LOVE it! I used to be able to get it at Walmart, but when they stopped carrying it, I had to find a replacement. Chapstick, all types of Blistex, and Soft Lips - NONE of them compared to Natural Ice. The only lip protectant that could be comparable is Burt's Bee's lip balm. Natural Ice is great for winter weather (I live in Boston so it gets pretty cold!) and awesome for the summer as it has SPF 15 protectant. I was happy to find it here on Amazon and always buy them by the dozen. My only complaint is that it no longer provides the cool minty feeling I used to get when I first got it in the 90's. I started using this in H.S., but since then Wally world has stopped carrying it, which was devestating.
I found it here on amazon.com and have been ordering it by the case, since.
It has a great minty tingle, and makes your lips feel smooth as butta. On top of that, it isn't one of those ones where if you don't use it all the time your lips will dry out, which is definitely a plus. It's also SPF 15, which is good for you lips.
And, honestly, looking back at pics of my lips from H.S. I swear my lips look bigger. Maybe the mintytingle stimulates growth? This isn't one of its selling points, just something I have noticed!
