I used to buy this lip balm for my kids because they used to eat the flavored kind. Then, we noticed that nobody was getting cold sores, something my stepdaughter used to get often. This is absolutely the best lip balm ever! It doesn't melt in the dryer, if it's accidentally washed and dried. But, the best thing about Mentholatum Lip Balm is that it really works, and it works well. Too bad it's not made anymore. Originally known as Mentholatum Lip Balm, this product has undergone several name changes over the years and is now called Natural Ice. It is the best lip balm on the market. Using Chap Stick and others is like rubbing a candle on your lips. They leave a waxy coating which doesn't feel theraputic in the least. Natural Ice uses a different indgredients which goes on smoothly and feels good. There's nothing else like it on the market. I've used Natural Ice Lip Protectant for many years. I have been unable to find this in local stores over the past year so I was thrilled to find it at Amazon.com! This lip protectant is very soothing and applies smoothly, not waxy like other products for chapped lips. The menthol flavor/scent is pleasant and the tube fits easily in my pocket. I couldn't find this product locally, used to be able to find it at local Walmart- no longer available. I loved this from the first time I used it, and hate being with out it.It's not waxy or too thick, and I like feeling the menthol on my lips.
If there's 1 general lip balm you'd like to have and keep, this IS the 1.

This is the best lip balm money can buy, and it's pretty inexpensive at that. I know--it doesn't come in a cutesy tube, doesn't smell fruity, and isn't associated with a cosmetics company. But it is long lasting and medicated, and it really does the job that others just promise. It's nearly impossible to find in stores anymore, so do yourself a favor and order the whole box--then you'll be able to share.
