Customer Reviews of Merkur-Razor Double Edge Razor BladesCustomer Review: Blades really do make a difference Summary: 5 Stars
I use a Merkur Solingen Futur Adjustable Double Edge Safety Razor, and have been using the Merkur Blades, and I was very pleased with the shave. Then our Rite-Aid when out of business and was selling generic blades at clearance prices so I bought a bunch -- AND THEY WERE TERRIBLE. Compared to the Merkur blades, they were rough and dull. There was a huge difference. These blades are so smooth, and so sharp -- as long as you are dropping [...] bucks on a razor, splurge and get the good blades.
Customer Review: Disapoitment Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased these blades because I have been unable to find good double edge razor blades in the stores. However, these wer no sharper than the drugstore brands I had been using.
About 4 weeks ago I ordered a different brand of double edge blades: Schick/Wilkinson. They sent the wrong type of blade so I contacted them and they said they were mailing out the correct order. This was 2 weeks ago and I have not received the correct order. Several efforts to contact them have been futile. Thus, I remain a very disappointed Amazon user!
Customer Review: Good blades for the price Summary: 5 Stars
I use a Merkur Hefty DE razor, and I use to use Feather blades. I have now started using the Merkur blades and they seem to work better. I have a really thick coarse beard (think Fred Flintstone) and the Merkurs only last me 3 shaves, but hey at the price that's fine. It's still better than the mach 3 cartridges I use to buy that were like $8+ for four. They would only give me 4-5 decent shaves. I like these because while not as sharp as Feathers they seem to be more consistent than Feathers. Every blade is the same sharpness and quality.
Customer Review: One of the best shaves I've ever had Summary: 4 Stars
I was a bit apprehensive about using a DE razor at first but I have to say I was surprised by what a great shave I get with these razors. I have to admit, I haven't yet tried other brands such as Feather or Derby (I've recently ordered a sample pack.) but I am pleased so far with Merkur.
One of the downsides for me personally, and I can't really blame this on Merkur alone, is that I can't shave against the grain with a DE razor which means I have to shave more often. With that said, I think its done my skin good for the long run.
Customer Review: THE Best! Summary: 5 Stars
I love these blades. I don't shave that often (maybe every 2 weeks) and my hair is thick and this razor cuts through it with no problem after many shaves (a 10 pack lasted more than a year). I tried a 10 pack of Feather blades and even after the 5th shave I was still cutting myself BAD (even more than I ever did when I first started shaving with a disposable razor) and not getting near as close a shave as the Merkurs, I threw the other 9 blades away I was so disgusted with them. The Merkurs are FAR superior!
