I read somewhere that the very best fragrances are a combination of nostalgic scents of the past and modern notes of the present. Even though this may be considered a "novelty" scent, as Blue Q is something of a trendy company, this is one of my favorite perfumes for this exact reason.
It's hard to explain why, but I associate this fragrance with the 1930s. There is an immediate top note of flowery peony with wonderful base notes of musky grass and even a little bit of black cherry. I'm no scent expert, but that's what I get from this fragrance. It is thoroughly modern, but still calls back to scents from the past. Also, it's got a perfect weight to it -- not at all heavy, yet still lingers throughout the day.
The package design is cheeky and cute, which might lead one to believe it's a throwaway kind of scent -- and in some respects it is, as it's no Chanel No. 5 and carries a cheap price tag. But honestly, who wants to smell just like everyone else? I personally find it lovely and unique and even a bit eccentric. It's got a thrift-store appeal that I really enjoy. I am someone who gets really into a scent for a while, then discards it for something else rather quickly, but I'm still very happy with this smell almost a year after picking it up.
