Customer Reviews of Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment 3.4 Oz Bottle with Blue Box

Customer Review: Does not live up to the hype
Summary: 3 Stars

After seeing this product in multiple beauty magazines and reading all the reviews online, I was starting to feel like I could not live without this product. I have long (mid-back) virgin hair and it was just starting to feel very dry and less manageable so I figured I would give Moroccanoil a try.

The first time I used it, I applied about two pumps worth to my towel dried hair and then let it dry overnight. I woke up late so I wasnt able to style it, but I did notice my hair feeling very soft. For trial #2, I put about 4 pumps in my hair (like I said, it's very long and fairly thick) and made sure to blow it dry. I can't really explain why, but I swear it made my hair feel dry, but at the same time, there was less frizz. This phenomenon happened the next time I blow dried and curled it as well. Lastly, I applied the product, let my hair dry overnight, and straightened it the next morning. I have the best results with this method, as my hair feels very soft and has less frizz.

Overall, I was looking for a product to decrease frizz, make styling easier and moisture my hair. For me, Moroccanoil is just so-so and not worth the high price tag. I'm actually trying to use up the bottle as fast as I can so I can try a different (perhaps pure) Argan oil product. **In fact, if anyone uses paypal and wants to buy my barely used bottle, I would be more than happy to sell it!!**

Customer Review: Light and Shiny - Even for Baby Fine Hair + No STATIC
Summary: 5 Stars

I have long hair (almost waist length)that is foil wrapped (highlighted) every 6 weeks and my hair texture is baby fine but lots of it so blow drying without frying it can be a challenge. I've used other "tamer" type products in the past but they seem geared only towards those with naturally curly, coarse type hair or something and weigh my baby locks down. This product gives me shine without weight and the very best thing, especially in winter, is that I'm not left with TONS of static cling in my hair after blow drying. It also seems to protect my hair from the heat of the blow dryer.

This has worked for me even in the most humid weather. Another good thing is this product is so light that after using, I can curl my normally straight hair and it WILL curl and the curls last just as if I didn't use the product and I cannot say that about any other "tamer" type product I've ever used.

The only downside to this product is that it is somewhat expensive but I've found that even though I do have lots of hair, a little less than a dime sized amount is plenty to get the results I want so the bottle does last a long time for me. Just pour a small amount in your hand, rub your palms together and apply to your hair. I do my ends first and work my way up to the crown, then blow dry as normal.

Customer Review: Eh...It's not exactly fabulous.
Summary: 3 Stars

I am a hair product junkie and this just didn't quite give me a fix. It's basically Frizz-ease with some added Argan oil. I was expected a higher concentration of the Argan oil, but it's 5th on the list of ingredients - a fair amount, but not for what you are paying. (the top 5 ingredients of any item are basically what make the product) If something is going to be called 'Moroccan Oil', you'd expect it to be just that, right?

It's very smoothing (hence the silcones at the top of the list of ingredients). Silicones will build on the hair and will eventually have to be stripped with a detoxing shampoo to remove the build-up. I have virgin naturally curly bi-racial hair with a fine texture (think R&B singer Mya). Silicone build-up on curly hair can be the devil so curlies beware. The smell is not too bad. Kind of musky. Just glad that I purchased through Amazon and got a great deal (50% of the normal price).

All in all, it Will suffice for a quick fix for minor frizz, but definitely not a 'treatment'. For that, I highly recommend Eden Allure. They have 100% pure Argan oil available and it doubles as skin care. (not affiliated-just a lover of natural products) Speaking of which, Moroccal oil has color additives (D&C Yellow 11 and Red 17).

Customer Review: So Buttery Soft....
Summary: 5 Stars

Love, Love, Love this product! I kept going back to an expensive hair dresser because everytime I left my hair felt so buttery soft but it was the Moroccanoil she was using in my hair!! I purchased this from her for $31, so Amazon is a little cheaper- but don't forget the s/h.

My Hair;
Long 5-7" Past Sholders
Semi-Wavy, gets frizzy brushed without a straight iron
Med. Thickness

I put the oil in my hair wet and use about .75tsp, I work it in through the ends first(I like to use a lot, plus my hair is long, you might want to try using less until you figure out what works for you).... then after it is dried and styled(usually flat ironed) I put about a nickel size amount through to tame the fly aways.

Make sure you start at your ends so your roots don't get greasy or build up over time and rub the oil together in your palms before putting it in your hair for a more even coat.

It also leaves my hair very shiny but not greasy looking- it looks healthy. I have been using this oil for about 2 months and my hair feels stronger too.

I have nothing bad to say about this product- although it would be much more handy if it came in a "squirt" type bottle :)

Customer Review: Finally
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm biracial and have a thick lot of spiral-curled hair. For YEARS I've tried every straightening product that I could get my hands on. My hair stylist turned me on to some other products and I thought they were the best because they left no residue on my hair, though my hair was never any straighter, sleeker, or healthier looking while straight. I went into my salon 2 weeks ago and saw a different girl and she says to me "I'm gonna do a moroccan oil treatment on your hair". I asked what it was and she told me it was a leave in whosie-whatzit and I thought "can't hurt. I'm always looking for new and better stuff to use on my hair." (This was the cream hydrator that comes in the jar) Then she put the oil in my hair, blew it (without a roller brush, to my surprise) and used a flat iron.

My hair has never been SO straight, SO shiny, SO light, SO healthy looking, and NEVER have I been able to go 7 days without touching up with a flat iron every morning. I live in Boston and during this 7 days, I was out in a snow storm for DAYS expecting my hair to curl and frizz. It DIDN'T HAPPEN!
Of course after she finished my hair I bought what she used on it. I will swear by this product forever. It has taken me years to find.
