I learned about these from the supervisor of a moving company when he stopped by to remove some scuff marks he crew left on my walls. The walls were newly painted and I thought he was going to have to repaint some of the because of the damage. Boy, was I wrong. He wipped out his Magic Eraser and in a few minutes the walls looked as good as new!
These things plus a little water can do wonders for removing scuff marks, pencil marks, and all manner of blemishes from walls and woodwork. However, you should consider them consumable, just as you would with soap or detergent when used to clean the same things. (However, soap and detergent will probably not be anywhere near as effective.)
So, if you plan on scrubbing pans or bathtubs then use a sponge. If you want to remove marks from places where detergents, soaps, and other chemicals are ineffective then this may be your answer.

I have no idea how these work. They don't seem abrasive at all, yet they take off all kinds of nasty stuff from walls, sinks, bathtubs, etc. Crayon..gone. Sharpie...gone. Shoe scuff marks on doors...gone.
They do sort of disappear when scrubbing. I guess the cleaning agent or whatever actually IS the sponge rather than a sponge with cleaner in it, so it disintegrates. The harder you push (sometimes you have to if it is a rougher surface) the faster it is gone. Like another reviewer said, the blue part is a regular sponge, so you can flip it over if you need to. Plus, as the material disappears, you still have something to hold onto (I use them until ALL the white is gone!)
Price-wise, these aren't as cheap as a regular cleaner and a sponge or brush, so I save these for things that I can't get clean the regular way.

I'm wondering if I received a bad batch because everyone I've used has fallen apart within three or four gentle swipes...hunks of it, not small pieces. I contacted the main company and their email rep said basically: well, duh, it's an eraser so it's going to act like one.
I've been using these for over 2 years and these are the first I've trouble with. After wiping down two bathrooms sinks twice there are so many chunks missing they have to be thrown away. No more for me.

I have just used the Magic Eraser to clean my entire house. I am speechless. The eraser not only takes away dirt that I have been scrubbing on tiles and walls for years, the material actually grabs the dirt and absorbs it, leaving the surface clean and fresh! With two Aussies and two cats, this little gem is a miracle in my never ending battle with pet hair and dirt! I use these on my Stainless steel Stove and Range Hood, Wow is all I can say. No more scrubbing, they take off the grease and grime so easy. I really love these and wonder how I ever made it without them. Use on my stainless dishwasher, refridgerator and freezer as well. Takes of the finger prints and dirt so easy. I just wipe with these and then go over with a dry cloth and they look beautiful.
