Could it get any easier than this?
This tape measure is Awesome. I have owned two. The first one I had for 4 years. My BF broke it wondering how far out it would go *sigh* boys? Anyway, I thought I was going to freak cuz I haven't ever seen them ANYWHERE. So I was forced to go back to a regular, where did I measure last time?, gotta use both hands, who knows if you are accurate, tape measure. As a result, I stopped measuring....then I stumbled across it here at Amazon. I LOVE AMAZON!
Its SO easy. You tighten it around whatever body part and push a button. You don't even have to take the little knob out of the slot. Just move it up or down your arm, leg whatever, then push the button again.
It's GREAT. BUY THIS ONE! :)

I was originally looking for a standard tape measure, but then I came across this cool little device. For my new years resolution, I vowed to lose 25 pounds (original, I know). I never thought of using a tape measure to track my progress, I was just curious to see where I stand.
When I received it, I was pleasantly surprised. This thing is so useful! Why aren't all tape measures like this? There is a grip for one end of the tape, and then just put it around whichever part of your body you want to measure, and then just push a button. You get an accurate measure every time. It is also a lot of encouragement for losing weight. The scale may fluctuate all the time, but with this, you can literally see your progress. I wish I had seen this sooner!

This IS better than a regular tape measure for tracking lost/gained inches on your body. BUT- it's a flawed design. It has a plastic pin at the end of the tape that you slide into a hole on the plastic holder, which would be MUCH better if the pin actually STAYED IN PLACE! Every time you tighten it, the pin pops right out. It's as if you need a third hand to hold the pin in the hole, and boy does it get frustrating. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it! I'm looking forward to an improved design, because yes this is better, but not by much!
EDIT: 8/3/2010...... I thought of an idea, MyoTape. Put a heavy duty magnet inside of the pin hole, and on the bottom of the pin. That will solve everything!!

I tried measuring my waist with a regular sewing tape measure - it's very hard to read it, to hold it steady, and to know how much pressure to apply. You can easily get +/- 1" that way.
With the MyoType measure, it is lightly spring-loaded, so you don't need to guess at whether you're holding it correctly or not or applying the right pressure - you just wrap the tape around your body, press the little spring loaded retractor button, and read the measurement. I check this at least once a week to view results from my exercise and diet program - the results are very consistent, and I'm able to see my waistline gradually shrinking.

We bought this to measure sizes of waists, inseams, arms and other areas of our body. The tape is small, and easily creates a snug fit around whatever body part is measured. The end of the tape snaps into the main unit, there is a release lever to retract. When pulling out the tape, you wrap it around the body part being measured then snap it into the main unit, press release and it creates a snug (but not too snug) fit.
This permits almost instant measurements, is very accurate, and has helped us to be better online shoppers. Delivery was prompt, the unit was in new condition, is well constructed and easy to use.
