I have trouble knowing how tight to pull the tape measure when I measure myself. I was hoping that this device would eliminate that problem. It does help to some extent, but there can still be a discrepancy of around 1/2". It does make it much easier than trying to look in the mirror and see the measurement when measuring alone. Shipping was ridiculous for one tape, but if you buy multiples there is only one shipping charge.Customer Review: Good for measuring yourself

This is a good tape measure for weightloss/exercise tracking of body parts. It's much easier to measure the circumference of your leg or arm than using a traditional tape measure. Once the platic end slides into device's slot, you need only one hand to press the retract button and measure. The only complaint is that the plastic end slides too easily out of the slot. For the money, it's a handy tool when measuring by yourself.Customer Review: not your average tape measure

So I know it sounds crazy to say a tape measure is great, but this one really is. I was using a regular ribbon-type tape measure (from a sewing kit) and this one blows that away! It's very easy to use and gives consistent measurements, which is important when you're tracking body progress, which involves very small changes! I recommend it if you're looking for a body tape measure, and it's reasonably priced.Customer Review: Awkward and Cheap

This tape is a great idea, but the design is poorly executed. The little plastic cylinder on the end of the tape freely slides out of the main body. Therefore, the tape constantly slips out when holding with one hand to measure the opposite bicep. You know that's why you're buying this, so look for a better product. Perhaps one that spent the extra 2 cents to make the tape snap into the handle.Customer Review: It works well for me.

Got tired of using my sewing tape to see how my body was shrinking during my weight loss efforts. This item works much better. Only improvement I could suggest is if it could have the ability for the little piece at the free end to snap in place after it's placed into the hole.. I find that that end can sometimes pop out of the hole before I have finished checking the measurements.
