I purchased Neem oil and added it to a concoction that I put on my beagle and American foxhound instead of chemical flea treatments. I use olive oil as a base and add lemon grass oil, eucalyptus oil and neem oil (a few drops of each) The Neem oil has an unpleasant odor but mixed with the other two it is masked. All three oils are natural insect repellants and much better for keeping flea free plus it is less expensive than the chemical cure. I haven't had any flea issues even when living in the warmer climates where fleas can be a real problem. I discovered that the treatment doesn't keep chiggers away, however.
