Customer Review: A good product, but not for severe sinus sufferers

I suffered from killer sinus headaches until a doctor advised me to do nasal irrigation using a WaterPik with a separate sinus attachment purchased from another company. This, plus a prescription nasal spray, eliminated the headaches. Since I usually vacation locally, it was no problem to take the WaterPik along in the car--but this summer, I was going to Europe for a two-week vacation, and bringing the WaterPik was out of the question. So I read the reviews, and bought the Nasaline irrigator and a supply of the Nasaline salt packets. It was much easier to use than the WaterPik, and the pre-measured salt packets were great for traveling, so I thought I could ditch the WaterPik--but, after a month, the headaches returned, and I had to go back to the WaterPik. The Nasaline irrigator uses a smaller volume of saline solution than the WaterPik, and is less forceful, so that may be the reason it isn't as successful.Customer Review: Headache relief

I have a strong tendency toward sinus headaches and sinus infections. I my case, my sinus cavities just don't drain well, so pressure builds and a headache results. It isn't unusual for me to have headaches weeks in a row. This product, however, has been a tremendous aid for me. Every morning I flush my sinus cavities out with it. The results are very effective. It cleans them out and adds necessary moisture. The end result is that my sinus headaches, while not completely eliminated, have been reduced quite significantly. While I'm not always eager to take the time to flush my sinus out each morning, it is quite worth it because on the days I don't I almost always end up with a headache. Also, my sinus infections are down and if I get exposed to something that causes higher than usual congestion, I can use it a second time in the day with benefits. I have been using this product for several years and love it. No more constant congestion. No more post nasal drip. No more sinus headaches!! Easy, non medicated solution for stuffed nose. Plus I think I get fewer colds.
That is the love part. The hate part is that I have been through 3 of them and there is no reason for it. The product itself does not wear out, but the rubber gasket does, making it unusable.
It is a simple fix that any one could do if only they made and sold the rubber gaskets seperately! I hate to add all of this trash to the environment, it is so wasteful. but the company forces me to do it.
If anyone knows of anyone who makes the rubber gaskets, please comment on it.
Bottom line, I recommend product but be prepared to have to throw away what seems like a perfectly good item over and over again.
Customer Review: Much better than a Neti Pot (in my limited experience)

Had trouble with several different Neti Pots in the past...I'd frequently get water in my ears, and the water just wouldn't flow smoothly at all! Even after weeks of attempted use (and using different methods), I gave up and ordered a Nasaline irrigator, taking the advice of a fellow Amazon reviewer.
Long story short: this product has worked great since day one. It's easy to use, effective and even came with 10 free saline packets to get me started! Neti Pots may work just fine for some folks...but in my opinion, this product works more consistently overall. Although the "limited lifespan" of six months is a little baffling (with proper care, I'm sure it'll last much longer), this is still a great product for allergy, cold and sinus victims!

I was a former Neti Pot user until my dog decided she wanted to chew up my plastic pot. I decided to try this and tested it out as soon as I got home from work. I love the fact that you can control the flow of the saline. With a regular Neti Pot the flow is slow and there isn't really any pressure. The plunger glides smoothly, and you can go slow or faster, depending on how much flow you really want. I think with a faster flow, the solution can penetrate the sinus cavities more thoroughly. I feel like I would be more likely to use the Nasaline product on a regular basis, than I Used my Neti Pot. An added benefit is that Nasaline is much easier to travel with if you need to. That in itself makes this product worth it!
