I exercise daily, and I finished the entire bottle. I saw no change in my weight fluctuations. My bodyweight was basically reacting the same as it did before I took these. It seems the mode of action of these pills is to block a type of amylase which breaks down carbohydrates. Well, your body can produce more than one type of enzyme to break them down. Another thing to note here is the fact that all the 5 star reviews are people who have only reviewed THIS item, which makes me question either the integrity of the seller and/or the manufacturer of this product.Customer Review: Natrol Carb Intercept with Phase 2 Carb Controler, 120-Count Bottle (Capsules)

I tried this product last year, with high hopes. Carbs are my downfall. I cut back on calories while taking Carb Intercept and followed the instructions carefully. After finishing an entire package, I lost 1 pound. I am at an age (52) where losing weight is getting more difficult, but i did expect to lose a few pounds. I did not have any side effects at all while taking this, however, which is why I gave it 2 stars. Customer Review: Didn't work for me

I have been taking those Carb Intercept pills for 2 weeks now: 2 pills before each carb containing meal. Although I am on a low fat, low carb diet, I am taking those pills to assist in my weight loss. In addition to Carb intercept, I am also taking Alli 60 mg. I am happy with how things are going: I have been losing weight gradually since I started this regimen. I am not eating white bread or any junk food nor any sweets. Because of the nature of my work (late night hours), I take "breakfast" at lunchtime and then lunch/dinner at dinner time.
For example, a typical Lunch/dinner preceded by 1 Alli pill + 2 Carb intercept Pills is a french Nicoise salad containing 2 boiled eggs / 1 small boiled potato / large bowl of lettuce / 1 tuna in water can / 1 tomato with, as dressing, low fat mayo, lemon & some olive oil. I believe that is high in proteins and veggies, and healthy.
For "breakfast", I eat a large bowl of low fat, low carb cereals with 1 fruit yoghurt, including the fruit on the bottom ones which can contain a good amount of sugar but it is ok once a day. With that too, I take 1 Alli and 2 Carb Intercept Pills.
That is more or less what I eat during the day. Later in the evening, I take fruits, choosing the lighter ones and my favorites such as watermelon or cantaloupe. Those are low in carbs and full of liquid. Even with this, I take 2 additional Carb Intercept pills.
I could have a beer (Michelob Ultra because it is low in carbs) or some coffee during the day.
Now concerning insomnia, I made my little research and found that the new Natrol Carb Intercept formula contains "Foodbound Chromium, which provides 40 mcg of Chromium to help metabolize fats and proteins for energy." Since I am taking my last pills late in the evening (around 1 am), I believe this MAY be causing insomnia. I have noticed that each time I take those pills late in the evening, I have a lot of trouble falling asleep.
I haven't encountered any other side-effects with Carb Intercept (neither with Alli).
In my research, I also found that 99.9% of online comments are positive regarding Carb Intercept's important role in weight loss.
So far, so good.
