Black Elderberry Original Syrup from Sambucus is a good alternative to Sambucal. My taste bud do not feel any different but my wallet did make a slight difference by a dollar or more. It help me in fighting my cold and virus infection, shorten the sickness by a day or two and reduced the severity. The sweetness of the syrup leave a pleasant taste in the mouth. I take the 2 ounces as prescribed on the label and add another 6 ounces of cold water to drink it like a refreshing cool-aid. Yummy.Customer Review: Head cold stopper!

I always keep this product on hand. I have used it to completely rid myself of a severe head cold in one day. A study showed that something in the black elderberries prevents the virus from penetrating the cell wall to start replicating.
I use Sambucus or Sambucol instead of dangerous flu shots. Of course you will probably never see black elderberry mentioned by corporate-controlled mainstream media although people have been using it for hundreds or thousands of years.

I am not a medical doctor, so I can't say if this product "actually" works. However, my husband and a friend have both taken it at the onset of getting ill and seem to recover as well or better than using over-the-counter cold meds. It has a very sweet taste, so isn't hard to take. I would definitely recommend trying it for those that want to have more natural products on hand to get through bouts of illness.Customer Review: Good way to help heal from colds and flu

I purchase Sambucus Elderberry from DAB Nutrition. I always use this product when I feel the onset of symptoms of Colds. After taking the prescribe amount and a good night sleep, the symptoms are all gone in the morning. I definitely recommend this product and preferably order either from DAB or Amazon. No other vendor has better pricing.

This syrup is a great immune system booster. Taken at the first sign of a cold, it reduces the duration greatly. And it tastes great! Some brands had to be mixed with juice in order to tolerate them, but this syrup has no bad taste or after-taste. My kids don't mind taking it at all. Great for a cough, too!
