I've been using a neti pot for 2 years now and it's been effective, but always a little uncomfortable with a mild to moderate burning/stinging sensation. I followed online instructions to use purified/distilled water mixed with 1/8 teaspoon un-iodized salt. However, after my first time using one of these NeilMed specially formulated solution packets, I'll never go back. For the first time since I've had my neti pot, I actually had a PLEASANT experience using it. Absolutely no burning or stinging. Just the soothing and relaxing flow of water to clear my sinuses. So much better than any others I have used.
*The design of the bottle allows for a smooth continual flow of the solution.
*The bottle and cap can be microwaved which allows further sanitation and and ease of preparation.
*MADE IN USA! Support of U.S. workers/companies is always important and especially when so many are out of work.
It also gives me the peace of mind knowing it's not another potentially toxic China export.
*The company website is very informative with videos, research and feedback.

Really not much to say. The process itself takes some getting used to (squirting water up your nose). But once you get over the initial sensation it's not bad and doesn't take very long. With body temperature water you hardly feel it, and it cleans out (and moistens) the sinuses. Regular use seems to be helping my allergy symptoms somewhat, and I am breathing a bit better.
This is the best price I've ever found for the refill saline packets. You do need their bottle, too, of course. If you haven't already, buy the pack with the bottle.

I'm on a tight budget, but still pay for these packets for my NeliMed blue plastic nettipot.
If by accident I only put half or less than the full amount, it makes a BIG difference and really hurts. If by accident (laziness) I don't have a full pot of water and use a full pack, it burns.
If I had to measure out salt each time (who knows how pure my table salt may be), I could never get it right each time. If I use the packets, and just pay attention (use one full pot, one full package) it works perfectly.

I have been using Neilmed's sinus rinse for two years now and wish I had been using it for much longer. I used to average 4-5 sinus infections a year and now only get one a year. I suggest buying the squeeze bottle and using it in the shower in the morning. That way you don't have to worry about any mess and the steam from the shower helps prime the pump, so to say.
One last item of note. Make doubly sure you use water at or slightly above body temperature. I made the mistake once, and only once, of using lukewarm/cool water.
