Customer Reviews of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock, SPF 55, 3 Ounces (Pack of 2)Customer Review: hello Summary: 1 Stars
This is one of the worst sun block formulations I have tried. Why?
1. This product is very greasy and makes my skin appear oily all day long. In fact, someone recently asked me if I was a little warm in our air-conditioned office since they noticed how "shiny" my skin appeared and assumed the oil on my skin was sweat.
2. When applying this product, I look like a ghost. The product is very visible and it makes my skin appear unnaturally white.
3. The product flakes off. The product leaves white flakes on my skin when I apply it and these flakes are hard to remove from eyebrows and hair. In other words, the sunblock doesn't get absorbed fully into the skin.
4. Applying this sunblock sometimes makes my skin turn red and stay red for a few hours.
I used this product for a couple of days then threw it out, so I can't say whether or not it works. I'm currently trying other products (not neutrogena!)
Customer Review: One of the best suncreens I've ever used Summary: 5 Stars
The thing I like the best about this sunscreen is the light feeling of it on my skin. It feels neither greasy nor drying. And it doesn't interfere with my makeup if I'm wearing any, or block my pores. It has a very light, pleasant fragrance, not overwhelming like some sunblock products. It has Helioplex, which helps prevent damaging UVA rays from penetrating deep under skin's surface and since it's SPF-55 I feel like my skin is well protected. I've never gotten a sunburn when I've worn this product out in the sun and my skin is very fair, so it doesn't take much.
I used to be a sun worshiper until I got a little older and started getting wrinkles. I still love to be out in the sun but I thankful for products like this that feel great on my skin and keep it protected. I keep plenty of it on hand and try to remember to use it whenever I go out.
Customer Review: Does it block the sun? Summary: 4 Stars
I don't know, reviews on line say so, but all the Neutrogana products either smell pleasant enough, go on easy, are not too greasy or thick or white....when you feel like having a light day. Good for everyday city living. I wouldn't go out on the streets without my face, neck, arms and scandeled feet covered.
Now, if I were going to the beach for the day, with my kids...I would probably choose a heavier thick zinc based coating in order to physically block the sun from our skin....
but as far as everyday goes...Neutogena seems to have all the right ingredients Uva,b? and all the other ray blockers....I did actual research prior to purchasing large amounts of these....and I do slather it on and do like this texture as it feels light and not oily....for everyday.
Customer Review: Hands down best sunblock on the market Summary: 5 Stars
My education I'm a biochemist and I was also a physiology teaching fellow in a university. As such, I have a fair amount of knowledge about chemistry, the body, etc. When my dermatologist recommended this sunscreen, he cited some studies about how SPF15-30 in practice washes off or wears off and doesn't offer adequate protection. He recommended at least SPF 50 and specifically this product.
My experience using this sunscreen is that you don't even know you have it on. It doesn't have a detectable smell and it is very sheer. However, this sunscreen stays on, is waterproof and doesn't block your pores. It guards against BOTH UvA and UvB and the Helioplex technology is a hit with dermatologists. I highly recommend this product and think it's totally worth the cost.
Customer Review: disappointed Summary: 2 Stars
I had high hopes for this sunscreen. I had planned to use it on every member of my family. First of all, this product has a STRONG fragrance. I find it overwhelming and nauseating. It has failed to be waterproof and sweatproof. One hour prior to going outside, we applied this to the family. By the time we reached the zoo, my son was sweating lightly and had cloudy drops of sweat on his brow. 30 min later, we had a light sprinkle of rain and each drop formed a clouded polkadot on our skin. Today I tried to carefully apply it to my son's face, only to realize that any spot that wasn't thoroughly rubbed in had dried to be slightly cloudy. Ugh! --and to think that I bought 6 bottles of this junk because it was a good price. In the end, my money was wasted.
