I purchased this as a backup to the Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser And the Neutrogena Total Skin Renewal devices which have been discontinued by Johnson & Johnson. After reading Wave reviews on Amazon going from 2008 until 2/2011, I wasn't sure what to expect:
1. the pads foaming or not,
2. skin reaction,
3. really waterproof,
4. worth it,
5. if thing would last more then a month
I took the plunge its OK, it deep cleans, my skin looks wonderful, massaging vibrations relaxing as long as it just glides over chin and cheek bones and doesn't rest there to give you the shakes. Although it says "gentle enough for daily use" after 3 days, twice a day my face was very dry and had chemical peel "frost" that eventually peels off. The cleanser makes my skin crave moisturizer. So I use the Wave in the evening followed by a moisturizer, much better :) I think my ten bucks delivered a good return. Reviews have me afraid to use this in the shower, contributing to it's early death, so I haven't!
The Wave came with a refill coupon, the Neutrogena site ran out with no info about replenishment :( Finding reasonably priced refill pads is "interesting", even AMAZON "eligible for FREE super saver shipping" ones sold out quickly...sign up to be notified!
Additional research calling BOTH Neutrogena AND Clean and Clear found:
Pads - Wave Deep Clean = white w/cleanser that DO NOT foam
Wave Deep Clean Foaming = blue w/foaming cleanser
Wave Gentle Exfoliating = white w/orange microbeads (others have mentioned pink microbeads too)
Wave Shine-free Blemish-free = light orange with 1% Salicylic Acid (discontinued)
Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser = lilac pads with 1% Salicylic Acid (discontinued)... use 3 times a week
Total Skin Renewal = cream pads w/mushroom extract (discontinued) ... use 3 times a week. This is my FAVORITE for skin brightening, tone, smoothness and clarity. I'm sorry it's gone!
***ALL pads are the same size (1.57 inches/40mm DIAmeter)
Web research: - you can find the refill pads from various sources at various, usually expensive prices (beyond SEVEN BUCKS) - some packages are WITHOUT the attachment head
- inner bags of the pads are not always labelled and/or don't have expiration date info
- there are knock-offs and/or valid generics that are showing up.
- packs of SEVEN turning up In-store refill pad packs are 20, 24, 28, 30...14s usually come with starter kits.
When it comes to my face, I'm leery about entrusting it to someone making a fast buck. Just be careful!

Neutrogena has produced a great product for washing your face - The Neutrogena Wave!
The Wave ( it comes as a Starter Kit ) is a hand-held vibrating cleanser and comes with two trail packs of pre-soaped pads and the necessary AA battery.
The size of the Wave is perfect. It fits easily and comfortably in your hand and is about 3 inches in size ( approximately the size of your palm ). Small, half-dollar sized, pre-soaped pads are placed on the head of the Wave - and this is wonderful, mild Neutrogena soap. You activate the soap by running the Wave under some water. You then turn on the Wave with a push button and that's it. You're all set to use the Wave - moving it over your face. When you're done - you pull off the pad, and throw it away. Simple.
The soap pads are very easy to use. You just place them on the head of the Wave. The head is designed to "grab" the pads. There is no pushing, no connecting, no messing with anything - just put them there.
My favorite thing about the Wave though, is that it can be used at the sink or in the shower. Yes, in the shower! You don't have to make an extra stop at the sink to wash your face before jumping into the shower. Yipee!
The vibration of the Wave is just perfect, gentle - it is NOT abrasive and it does not move in circles or brush against your face. You don't end up with patchy red areas!
The soap on the pads is mild and soft and leaves your face feeling wonderful. Neutrogena is famous for it's soap, and using it once, you know why.
Because both the vibration and soap is mild - you can safely use the Wave every day, anytime you wash your face. You don't have to be concerned with using it too often or it being too rough on you. I use it daily without any issues at all.
Travelers : This item is small and you can easily put it in your make-up case or travel-pack.
I got the pink colored Wave, though I have seen green and blue colors available.
My only issue with the whole package is that the pre-soaped pads do not come in a re-sealable pouch.
All and all, though - This items is great and I highly recommend it.

The Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser has created a new "Wave" of how women clean their skin. The first time I heard of this product was on tv, and was immediately intrigued as to just how clean it could make my skin. I have overall oily skin, and am constantly trying to find a product that won't dry out my skin too much.
My past cleansing rituals consisted of bottles of products that cluttered the bathroom. The Neutrogena Wave takes up much less space (fits nicely in a drawer or a medicine cabinet), but still gets the job done, even more effectively than the old manual labor I am used to.
The first step to trying out this product was inserting the battery. One Duracell double A battery was included. The back came off much like some tv remotes, with a little latch that you pull down. It came off very easily. After inserting the battery, I slipped the back on and heard it snap. I pushed the button on the side to make sure it worked and was ready to go.
The box contains 2 packages of 7 pads that with a touch of water, begin to foam and produce the cleanser. The pads velcro to the Power Cleanser so that there is no chance of it slipping and causing a mess.
The foaming pads activated very easily, and the vibration of the Power Cleanser was soothing. The cleanser created a nice lather on my skin, just after a few seconds. After a couple of minutes (the vibration was so relaxing), I rinsed off the remaining cleanser, and my skin felt super soft and fresh. My face also felt less tense and more relaxed.
The Bottom Line:
I highly recommend this product. The Power Cleanser is easy to use, compact and effective. I felt that the cleanser got deep into my pores, and left my skin feeling fresh. I think you'll agree that anything that can help a woman's beauty routine become more simple is welcomed, and this will definitely do the job.

I bought this product, the Neutrogena Wave because I wanted to take my skincare regimin to the next level. I looked at the competetors but settled on this product due to the price of $12.97 at Walmart. It comes with the massager, pop-out attachment for the cleansing pad,(14) and a AA battery along with 14 cleansing pads. First, let me say I'm in my fifty's so skincare is important to me but I don't have the luxury of spending hundreds on skincare products. My skin is now starting to show signs of aging by fine lines and deep wrinkles and circles under my eyes. My main goal from this product is for my skin to improve in the following areas:
more even skin texture
more radiance
more firmness
more softer, subtle feel
help with deep skin cleansing and exfoliation
I used this product today for the first time following the instructions carefully. The product is very well made so far as the size as it comfortably fits in your palm. The attachment which holds the cleanser pad comes of easily and the cleansing pad attachs to it with no problems. Simply wet the pad with some water and push the button to start.You can also re- wet the pad if more is needed later. The vibration is both somewhat quiet but not irritating on the skin at all. You don't need to push on the product while holding it as it does the massaging for you!! The cleansing pads have a nice smell to them- nothing too perfumy, just a nice clean smell. Simply guide the skin massager over your face concentrating on the areas that you feel need the most attention. You control how long you feel each area needs to be cleansed.
I found my skin afterward to be more soft and brighter than before I used the Neutrogena Wave. It was easy to use and control and can ber used in the shower. The cleansing pads are available for about $6.49 for about 1-2 months worth depending on how often you use the product. It is gentle enough I feel you could use it every day depending on yourt skin type.
Bottom line is, if you don't want to spend alot for a "skin rejuvenator" than consider the Neutrogena Wave! I think you'll like the results and for alot less too!!
