Customer Reviews of Neutrogena Wave Power-Cleanser and Deep Clean Foaming PadsCustomer Review: Not quite what I had hoped it would be. Summary: 3 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I have to say that while it seemed to work OK, the Wave Power Cleanser is nothing special.
I liked the size and shape, fitting perfectly into my hand and easy to keep a hold of in the shower. Battery lasts a long time and the massaging head feels good when you are using it. The cleaning pads are a good size, about a half dollar and are really easy to attach to the device. The head of the cleaner is like Velcro and the pad sticks to it. The pads are pre-soaped and are activated just by running them under water. They have a gentle fragrance as well, that reminds me of tea tree cleansers.
All that makes it sounds like some really great thing, right? Even so, I was unimpressed. I used it for a full week and while it says safe to use more than once a day, while that may be true, for my skin it was too much. I have very sensitive, normal to oily skin. The soap for this cleanser was too harsh for my skin, which really surprised me since Neutrogena is known for face products good for sensitive skin. It dried my skin out something awful and made my whole face feel really tight. I had to use a lot of moisturizer, which I rarely have to use every time I tried this cleanser.
I also noticed no change in the cleanliness of my skin or pores from using the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser. I couldn't see or feel any changes, except for the overly dry skin. While it lathered up nicely and smelled really good, and is really easy to use, the fact that it didn't seem to make any difference for me in spite of that means I won't likely be having to worry about all the refill kits for the pads. I just go back to my Paula's Choice Skin Care products.

Customer Review: Made For A Woman But Usable By A Man... Though I'm Not Sure He'd Want To Summary: 3 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is the second "woman's product" I have chosen to sample, but at least this time I knew what I was requesting (the pink color was something of a giveaway). My reasoning was that both men and women have faces needing cleansing so perhaps I might find this item useful after all. Frankly, I've never found a facial cleansing method that combined both true effectiveness and the lack of agonizing pain so I figured I'd give it a try. The results? Decidedly mixed.
On the one hand the product does in fact appear to clean the face without agonizing pain; on the other hand I cannot say that it was any more effective for me than "soap and washcloth", and it is clearly going to be both more expensive and more time consuming to use than said "soap and washcloth".
Unlike some reviewers I had no trouble inserting the battery, but then my fingernails are trimmed rather closely. For some odd reason neither the package material nor the web site contained advice on whether to cleanse before or after shaving so I always cleansed pre-shave. Like other reviewers I noticed that the non-resealable foam pad container seemed to allow the product to "dry out" towards the end of a week.
Note: My item came with an offer for a $3 off coupon on 30 Neutrogena Wave Refill Foaming Pads - Deep Clean Power Cleanser upon signing up on Neutrogena's web site. Unfortunately, the coupon, which could be printed only once, expired before I even finished my first 14 pads. Future buyers are advised that unless they KNOW that they will be buying the refills RIGHT AWAY AND that said refills are available locally at an acceptable price they may want to hold off on signing up for the coupon.
Customer Review: The secret of my glowing skin is lots of kissing! -Mallika Sherawat Summary: 5 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
After using the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator, The Anti Aging Power Treatment Kit and being so completely won over with the results it produced, I had to try this product.
I have sensitive skin and with most ordinary cleansers, even ones that claim to be gentle or hypoallergenic, I end up looking like a wind burned mess. This product is very simple to use and the vibration is very unobtrusive, it doesn't feel uncomfortable at all. The cleanser is very gentle and the pad is very soft, it feels very nice against your skin. I was truly impressed with the way my face looked, but more than that I was impressed with how soft my face felt after just one use. I kept having my husband feel my face; I couldn't believe how soft it was.
I used it on my husband as well and he remarked how clean his face felt. He'll use whatever's handy on his face, and it makes me cringe, but I think I have finally converted him to some normal skin care with this product. He is as impressed, as I am.
I don't use it everyday, I use it every other day, rotating between this and my medicated face wash I have to use. Between this product and the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator, The Anti Aging Power Treatment Kit, my skin looks and feels better than it has in years.
This is a product I will continue to use, I think it is definitely worth the price. I'm a fan!
Customer Review: Not so Clean, Mr. Watson Summary: 2 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
After seeing all the the commercials for this product, I thought I might give it a whirl. It seemed like it might be something good for the body, and anything really good for the body seems to be good for the nameless little emotive part that some people call a soul. Besides, I like feeling clean when I go to bed and, if this beast worked, I would be feeling good a lot.
Sadly, I just feel like someone smeared my face with alcohol and told me to take a time-out.
When you get the product, it is basically a two part system. First you have the base; a lovely little pink thing, reminding me of something marketed to an 11 -year-old girl to get rid of her not-so-fresh feeling. This takes two batteries, shakes and shakes and shakes a little more, and doesn't really stop shaking until - well, I guess an off switch or a dead battery seem the only ways out. Next there is the cleaning pads: they come in sealed little packages and reek of cleaner and, if you aren't prone to alcoholism, they stink. They basically are cleaner dipped in cleaner, and they look like any product designed to removed pimples from the 1980s.
So you take the two and the first attaches to the other with a velcro-like kiss, then wet it and place it on your face and boom! Clean face.
Only problem is that it isn't a clean face. It is perhaps a make-up remover or the killer of some dirt but it doesn't do the magic. It is far less than desired and has been shelved by everyone around here.
Now I'm sad. I wonder if that will cause a break-out?
Customer Review: The New Face of Skincare Summary: 4 Stars
The Neutrogena Wave is a new skincare product, using soft, gentle vibrations to cleanse and invigorate your skin 10x better than any other skincare product, according to Neutrogena. Generally, the company is very high-quality and natural, and in this case, they did an amazing job.
The kit includes a battery, 14 cleansing pads, and the Wave. It is made to fit the hand perfectly. I have only seen it in pink, but the website also has blue and green. While very user-friendly, it is not as eco-friendly as it could be. However, if you do not use the Wave daily and also use a rechargeable battery, this can be easily changeable. It is quite easy to operate.
Results:
-After: One Use- my skin was a little red, and tiny bumps appeared at the tip of my nose- a possible effect of the "deep cleaning". The bumps went away the next day, and my skin is noticeably softer than before- a defined improvement. Skin is a little taught and shiny. Used moisturizer, however, and all was fine.
-After: Three Uses- Seen a definite improvement in skin softness. No more extra bumps or anything. Soft, glowing, smooth skin.
-After: Seven Uses (1 Week)- No more improvement as opposed to three uses. My skin feels very clean, however. I will now proceed to use it once every two days, as per instruction.
The gentle vibrations are fairly relaxing, but can at first feel rigorous. One person has commented on the new and improved skin. You may want to use it with a moisturizer as skin can become taught.
The price at CVS was $11.99. I believe it was worth it by all accounts. Very good and thorough, though it could stand to be more eco-friendly. I will continue to use it, and will buy more pads when mine run out, but I will not use this every day.
