Customer Review: Decent shampoo, good conditioner, does nothing about the thinning

2 stars because while the shampoo leaves your hair feeling clean and the conditioner is very good, it doesn't help thinning hair or even help the "appearance" of thinning hair at all. Even the pump of treatment is no different than applying hair spray and then blow-drying your hair while using a comb, which btw does help disguise thinning hair.
Guys, if you're losing your hair go get a prescription for Propecia. I've been on it for a couple years now and have regrown a lot of hair. I was never bald but my hair was noticeably thin and my scalp was visible. After using Propecia my hair follicles are still thinner than they were but I have a full head of hair now and you can't see my scalp.
I stopped using Propecia to see if Nioxin would help at least maintain the hair I regrew with Propecia. Btw, I knew from stopping taking it before that if I started up Propecia again I would re-regrow my hair pretty quickly. The Nioxin does nothing.

I purchased this for my 76 year old mother in law who had such thinning hair you could always see her scalp in natural light. She also had a receeding hairline. She used the starter kit products only once a week (when she washed her hair). She called me a little over 9 weeks from starting regime and was so excited to tell me that she has all kinds of new little hairs along the area that was receeding. Also her scalp doesn't show anymore. She could not be happier. She also said her hair feels very soft. There was no mention of hair falling out so I guess that wasn't a concern (I was very worried about that from other reviews). I bought this as to use to make her feel better about her thinning hair-I didn't think it would actually work. Ha! I'm the favorite daughter-in-law now. I am a 35 yr old male. My hair has moderate thinning. I bought the product 1 month ago and used it daily though I did not use the pump mouse-like product because it was very sticky. No funny smells from the product. I left the conditioner in a lengthy time (3+ min.). I found no change in my hair. I do think it cleans and leaves your hair well conditioned but I don't see a difference in hair thickness or growth. I was hopping this would be the product. I have found Nizoral (the anti-fungal ingredient reduces testosterone) to work in the past but it leaves hair dry and I worry about playing with hormones. The only think I have found to slightly work is the VICHY products which are expensive and annoying to apply.Customer Review: Buy Organic for Hair Loss

OK, so I've used this Nioxin for years and have never seen any results. Yes the foam stuff will make your hair "seem" thicker,,,, but Nioxin will not grow new hair or prevent hair loss. I even took the supplements. Anyway, after so much research I decided to try Organic shampoo and wow, huge difference in my hair loss. Right now I'm using Peter Lame (pricey) for thinning hair and just purchased Avalon (good price) thickening shampoo. Stay away from all those harmful chemicals they put in Nioxin, trust me.

I started using this product after getting some info about it from one of the girls that does my hair and recommended this to me. I've used a product like this before but was less then impressed by the results. The Nioxin System was easy to understand and after a couple of weeks I asked the stylist who originally told me about it and she said that she believes its gotten much better. I recommend this system to anyone whos worrying about thinning hair but make sure to do the test on the Nioxin website to find out which system is right for you as there are multiple variants.
