I am a nursing mother. My first fish oil that I have tried was After Baby Boost 2, I have to say that after a week of taking it I felt so much better, my concentration was better, i felt more organized and had more energy. I decided to try Nordic Naturals, because of their great reviews about their purity. I ordered Prenatal DHA through Amazon, it had a fishy smell right after opening it, and every time after taking it I had fishy burps for most of my mornings. It did not bother me much though, i thought that this is how its supposed to be. However, I have noticed that I do not feel that great anymore, so I thought it is maybe because of the lower EPA (which is a precursor to DHA) content compared to Baby Boost. Just recently i ordered Ultimate Omega by Nordic Naturals, got it today. opened and... no smell at all. Started to investigate the suspicious fishy smell and according to Nordic Naturals web site their fish oils do not supposed to smell.

* Manufacturing standards. Is the fish oil manufactured according to international quality standards?
* Smell and taste. Does the fish oil smell or taste fishy? If so, the fish oil has most likely been exposed to oxygen and is becoming rancid. Rancid (oxidized) oils should be avoided, as they yield less-than-healthy effects. Avoid fish oils that have really strong flavorings added to them because they are most likely trying to hide the fishy flavor of rancid oil.
* Supportive scientific research to prove the efficacy of the fish oil brand.
* Sustainable fishing practices. Any environmentally responsible fish oil manufacturer should offer transparency into their fishing practices."
In Summary, I would not mind all of it, but rancid fish oil is simply not good for you.
