Customer Review: I was initially sceptical, but it really works!

We live in the Northern Michigan woods, surrounded by swamp. This year we've had a dry spring, but it rained last weekend and the mosquitoes all showed up at once. My husband bought four of these Off clip-ons, because we were going to have company over Memorial Day weekend. With the clip-ons running, we were actually able to eat dinner on our deck and watch the sun set over the river without being bitten once! My sister and niece took a walk in the woods and along the river without being bitten, and I've been wearing my clip-on ever since while gardening. I wouldn't be without it now. It's much less messy than having to apply insect repellent all over my skin, and much more convenient (and cooler) than having to wear netting over my upper body (it gets pretty hot and steamy under the netting).
Of the four clip-ons we bought, one of the fans was noisy although it still worked. The clip-on refills are expensive,as are the batteries, but as far as I'm concerned they're worth it. The only time I get mosquito bites now, is in my own bedroom. I wish I could leave the clip-on running in the house!

I purchased this recently after a friend in my Book Club recommended them to us. We live in Michigan and have many mosquitoes and deer flies that give the nastiest bites before you even know you have one on you. Well, this Clip On works, not only for me but for my dogs. We go to a fenced dog park area in the woods during the day and at dusk and so far no bites, the mosquitoes come toward us and the deer flies come in for an attack quickly to fly off and away from the area we are in.
I have over the years bought all sorts of sprays, a wrist band that emitted sounds of the dragon fly, a natural predator to the mosquito, and even a jacket in Buzz-Off, a fabric that had a natural repellent immersed in the fibers so I wouldn't have to spray every time I went out. So far so good for all of us! I have also noticed the longer I am in an area wearing this the fewer and fewer bugs are around.
I have black coated dogs so when I see a bug around them I just remove my Clip On and move it through the air around them and again the bugs vanish.

I usually don't believe TV commercials that say the product is better than sliced bread or will solve world hunger, but I have to admit that the Off clip-on mosquito repellent performed better than I would ever have believed. Our back yard has gnats and mosquitos that will eat you alive if you just walk through the area with the ground cover and flower beds. I used to have to keep battling them when I did the weeding and mulching, but I took a chance on this Off clip-on device and am now completely sold on it. For the past three weekends, I've been working for hours in the garden and I haven't been bothered at all, not even once. I can see the clouds of gnats as I approach, and I expected them to be attacking my eyes as usual, but it never happened. The bugs just avoid me wherever I go. It is absolutely amazing. I waited a couple of weeks to finally buy two of these as they were out of stock in several stores where I live. I should have paid attention to all the negative reviews, but there were also some positive ones so I took a chance. Big mistake. I returned my unopened one for a refund and threw the other into the garbage after several trial days.
I don't understand how some people give the Off! Clip-On a good review and that it repels mosquitoes. They must not have any mosquitoes present or they work for the company. I clipped it onto my shorts, sat or stood in one place for long periods of time and I was devoured. I had mosquitoes all over my legs, even aiming the contraption and blowing directly and inches away at them as they were still biting.
If SC Johnson keeps these things on the market after this summer I will be amazed. They must have tons of them returned.

Even 98% deet paired with 2 citronella candles were not able to keep the mosquitoes away in my yard. We couldn't enjoy our yard at all because within 30 seconds of walking outside you were acting as a buffet table. I got this thinking "it's less than $10 and if it works I might can see my yard some this summer" Well I took it home, took it out of the pack and went out to the patio furniture. I saw 1-2 mosquitoes at first and then nothing. Not only did I see NO mosquitoes, the pad that was supposed to last 12 hours lasted more like 20 hours before the mosquitoes would get close enough to spot. I am very pleased and will continue to use this for the rest of the summer and hopefully in years to come. I love the idea of never having to wear that horrible deet stuff again!
