Customer Reviews of Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Aging UV Moisturizer, SPF 15, 1.7 Ounce

Customer Review: Great moisturizer
Summary: 5 Stars

I've used this moisturizer for about 10 years now, and couldn't be happier with it. I have combination oily/dry skin, and I had problem skin through to my late 20s. After many trials, this was the best moisturizer I could find that properly moisturized my skin (protecting it against Canada's cold) and didn't cause more breakouts. In fact it kept my skin soft and supple enough for the blemishes to heal quickly.

Now I'm in my 30s and living in the tropics, and I'm still happy with it; the SPF factor is essential for my daily routine, as I prefer to use the heavier sunblocks only when I'm out in the sun for prolonged periods as it really clogs my pores. After five years of living 10 degrees north of the equator, my skin has held up remarkably well, with few signs of aging. I also like the fragrance-free lotion, as I find today's products are all too heavily scented, and I pay good money for actual perfume already.

I've tried far more expensive moisturizers, and I still keep coming back to this one. Highly recommended.

Customer Review: HIVES!!! BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
Summary: 1 Stars

My face is covered in hives and the areas around my eyes are swollen. Actually my entire face and neck is swollen wherever this product touched. I reccommend trying this product and leaving it on for 2-3 days before deeming it safe. This is the result after day 2. I put it on Sunday evening and by Monday evening my face felt hot like I had a glass of red wine, then when I woke up Tuesday morning (today) my face (mostly temple areas, forhead, chin, apple of cheeks, tip of nose and neck) had swollen hovey area, is tight, extremely hot to the touch, and overall uncomfortable. Went to the dr. to get steroid cream and took Benadryl so I could even work today. I have used this product in the past. (same bottle) Not sure what has combined to create the perfect storm this time. I don't use any other products on my face including makeup and cleansers. If you have sensitive skin I would avoid or try this when you don't need to be in public for a few days!

Customer Review: Olay works!
Summary: 5 Stars

My mom has been using Olay for as long as I can remember, which is why I'm very familiar with its beauty fluid's packaging and the scent. I started using Olay when my mom went on a trip to Canada and brought home a bottle of Olay Complete for me. They didn't sell Olay in the Philippines then and you could only find this product at duty free shops. I loved Complete and finished the entire jar. When Olay Total Effects was launched, I was intrigued because of the many benefits it claims that it gives. I have combination (most of the time dry) skin, and Olay just seemed to reduce my problem when it comes to my dry skin. I have been using Olay ever since. I'm 25 and I don't have that much lines on my face YET, which is why I can't really attest to Olay's claim to diminish fine lines and wrinkles. What I do know is that it has helped my moisturize my dry skin, without it being too greasy. Plus, it has SPF. What more can I ask for?

Customer Review: Not an all-purpose moisturizer
Summary: 2 Stars

I love Olay Total Effects and have been using the regular Total Effects daily moisturizer for years. After becoming unemployed recently, I was afraid I would have to give up my Olay for something cheaper. I found the subscription option at Amazon and was thrilled to be able to get it for at least $5 cheaper than anywhere I can find it locally. The UV SPF 15 was even cheaper than the regular, so I thought I'd give it a try. This SPF 15 variety does not feel like a moisturizer at all. It feels a little tacky/sticky going on, and it makes my face feel tight and dry. I do not normally have sensitive skin, but I felt a mild burn after using it. The smell of sunscreen is also obvious. I can see using this in the middle of summer when I'm slathering on the sunscreen anyway, but I would only use this specifically when needing extra facial UV protection...not as a moisturizer.

Customer Review: Very smooth
Summary: 5 Stars

I had severe acne as a teenager and now that I'm in my 30's I have an occasional breakout. I would always read in the beauty magazines that you should apply a moisturizer on your face but I was reluctant because of my acne-prone skin. I'm not sure why I decided to give Olay Total Effects a try but I am so glad I did. I have been using it every day for over a year now. It does not make my skin breakout at all (a big plus in my book). It makes my skin very smooth and gives me that "dewy" look. It also helps my foundation look more natural looking because the moisturizer is so hydrating. I also like the fact that it protects my skin from the sun.

I would definately recommend this product to anyone looking for a moisturizer. Despite it's high price (compared to other brands) it's definately worth it.
