Customer Reviews of Omron HEM-432C Manual Inflation Blood Pressure MonitorCustomer Review: Great Product for Great Price Summary: 5 Stars
I got this for the simplicity of checking my own blood pressure, and using it's memory feature. I'm dealing with a few health issues, sending my bp a lot higher than normal for short periods of time. So I've seen it work correctly with high bp and normal bp. I get the same results (within about 3-5 points top and bottom numbers) with this model as I do with a standard bp cuff and stethoscope. I also compared it against itself, checking each arm multiple times, and it comes up with the same numbers within about 3 points (again, then I double checked it with a tradition bp taker, and it is right on). From what I see so far, this is a fantastic buy.
Customer Review: Great machine once you figure out the subtleties of getting a correct reading Summary: 4 Stars
I have low blood pressure, not high, so the first five or so times I used it I was dismayed to see that it read ridiculously high. But as I used it over those 5 to 10 times, I figured out exactly how much to tighten the cuff on my arm before inflating (tighten too much before, it will read high, tighten too little and it will either read high or give you an error). Once I figured this out, I have had only 1 high reading, and I've been using it for about 3 weeks. Also, make sure you sit for a couple of minutes before taking the reading, etc. - there are instructions in the manual regarding how to sit, etc.
Customer Review: Difficult to use! Summary: 1 Stars
The product description stated, "Manual blood pressure monitor is the simplest way to take blood pressure readings at home." So I did not get the self inflating model. I pump the bulb as stated in the directions (I follow the directions exactly). It takes many attempts before I get a reading. And I wait the required time before a new attempt. Even though I do exactly the same thing sometimes I get a EE (underinflated) and sometimes I get an E (overinflated). By the time I get a reading I don't know if I have high blood pressure because I have high blood pressure or because I am totally frustrated.
Customer Review: inconsistent readings Summary: 3 Stars
I have taken my blood pressure on one arm and then the other arm immediately after and there were differences of greater than 10 and 5 for the upper and lower numbers. When I go to the doctors office my blood pressure is the same in both arms almost all the time. Also when I go to the public blood pressure machines in stores the readings there are lower than by more than 10 points as well.
I gave it three stars due to the fact you can at least get a ball park figure and be alerted for any large increases in blood pressure. For the price I guess you can't expect too much.
Customer Review: It's perfect Summary: 5 Stars
My wife wants to buy a blood pressure monitor which is simple to use without bells and whistles. First she wants to a manual one because the auto-inflation may over-inflate and make her uncomfortable. Secondly, she does not use it very often and does not want to get a high-tech gadget and read instruction every time before using it. If recording is needed, she can write the numbers onto a paper and save the paper together with the monitor. The build quality is very good and the display is clear. I could pay twice for a more complicated one but HEM-432C simply serves her purposes.
