Customer Reviews of Omron HEM-670IT Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with APS (Advanced Positioning Sensor) and Advanced Omron Health Management SoftwareCustomer Review: Had everything we wanted Summary: 4 Stars
We bought another wrist cuff BP monitor, it died within a year. This one seems to be built much better, gives a lot more feedback and overall seems like a stellar deal compared to what we previously purchased.
The software was very easy to use, easy to install, and we patched it to the newest version via the Omron website.
It arrived very quickly. We purchased a combo pack of AAA rechargeable batteries and a charger from Battery Superstore (a associated vendor), and those rechargeables seem to work just fine in this unit. They even came with a car charger, which we can see coming in handy if the batteries fail on a road trip.
Overall, a splendid combo and we aren't going through so many batteries with the cuff. Always felt bad about that, now the problem is solved.
Our only (minor) issue is that we can't track the BP for each of us separately on the cuff. We can do it via the software, but would be nice to separate them out on the cuff as we go. I did mark down because of that, but really I would give this unit 4.5 stars which isn't one of the options.
So close to perfect!
Customer Review: Omron HEM-670IT Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best blood pressure monitor I've seen for personal use. Avoid using it before reading the paperwork that comes with it. At first, I thought the darn thing didn't work. I now understand what "advanced positioning sensor" means. Once you strap it on your wrist and turn it on, a small heart flashes telling you it isn't positioned (high or low enough) correctly. Once you raise or lower your arm to the correct height (heart level), it automatically inflates and takes your bp.
Just today, I setup the software on my computer that came with it. It attaches to your computer with a USB cable and exports all of the readings taken to the computer. I transferred 192 readings over the last month.
The software automatically graphs out systolic, diastolic and pulse rate and even will export the readings to a PDF. You can print the graphs and/or total readings in spreadsheet format, too, which I personally prefer.
I highly recommend this machine. It's fast, easy to use and the included software makes it a perfect way to record and keep track of how your blood pressure is doing.
Customer Review: Compact, accurate, data logging, Great product. Summary: 4 Stars
I like what Omron did with this BP monitor.
Pros:
Compact
Accurate
Easy to read display
Has memory to log readings over time
Computer interface to download memory (print or email to your doc.
Cons:
Instruction could be clearer
Included software could have a clearer user interface
I really like the way it measures the blood pressure AS it pumps up so it never pumps up higher than it needs to to get a pressure reading. Many other BP Monitors pump up to 160-180 then measure the pressure as it bleeds off the air.
To the Engineers: I'd like to see the next model have a wireless way to transfer the data. I travel which is why I bought a compact monitor. My laptop case has too many cables already and now I have another one. Consider WiFi, Bluetooth, SD card. Also a backlit display would be nice. I would pay more for these features.
As a former Biomed tech that tested and repaired 100's of BP Monitors I can say with some authority that this is a winner.
Customer Review: So far, so good Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this monitor for 2 weeks, checking my blood pressure twice daily (morning/evenings) and I find it is very accurate. I took it to my doctor's office to compare it with the office's arm cuff monitor and it was right on. The previous Omron monitor I owned (no longer being made) was not accurate at all, much to my dismay after I had it checked.
This monitor is very easy to understand and use. My only disappointment with it was when I installed the software to my computer, I noticed that the readings/memory can only be saved for 1 person at a time, not 2 (like the more expensive arm cuff monitor). Thus, if I want my husband to monitor his blood pressure so that we can keep track of it, we'd have to take turns every other week and select his name instead of mine when downloading information from monitor. For historical tracking, we can save the weekly download files on a .csv format for each one of us.
Both monitor and software are easy to use. I would recommend this monitor to my family and friends.
Customer Review: Quick Accurate and Easy Summary: 5 Stars
Velcro wrist cuff very easy to wrap one-handed into place, and to remove.
You need to be seated with your back vertical and the monitor in place on your wrist and at the same height as your heart.
The simple way to do this is:
1. Put cuff on left wrist.
2. Reaching over with your right hand, cup your left elbow in your right palm.
3. Your forearms will be crossed horizontally, with the cuffed arm on top.
4. Wait for the monitor to start beeping with short beeps.
5. Then pivot your left forearm (with the cuff on your left wrist) upwards, until the monitor emits a few long beeps.
6. The palm of your left hand then will be roughly in front of your right armpit.
7. The monitor will start inflating, and when finished it will show the read out.
Took this along to the doctor a couple times and it matched their equipment almost exactly (off by 1).
