Customer Reviews of Omron HEM-670IT Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with APS (Advanced Positioning Sensor) and Advanced Omron Health Management SoftwareCustomer Review: I actually look forward to taking a reading Summary: 4 Stars
I've been using this meter for a few weeks now and so far I am impressed. My older monitor was one of those bulky, ackward, pump types. This one is a breeze to use. Just place it on my wrist and press a button. To those who worry about the accuracy, the first week I compared readings using both my old and new meters. The readings where very close to each other. It allows you to store in memory around 85 readings. It has a graphical display which averages your morning and evening readings, so you can see your results at a glance. Or if you prefer, you can view each reading individually. While the meter is not complicated to use, I suggest keeping the manual handy for quick reference until you become familiar with it. The reason I purchased this meter was because of the software included. I want to be able to bring hard copies of my results to my doctor. I haven't yet had a chance to try the software so I can't comment of it's ease. Overall I am very happy and recommend this meter.
Customer Review: It cannot get any easier... Summary: 4 Stars
This device is very simple to use. Read the instructions; you have to position your arm in a certain location close to the heart. The unit detects its proximity and starts working. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because all my machines run Vista and even though the OS recognizes the device, the Omron software does not "see" it as connected. Maybe they will fix this in the next release of the software. For this reason I cannot say anything about the software that came with it. Also, my Doctor said that the electronic meters are not as accurate as the ones doctors use. I told him I was going to bring mine to his office and compare. I will update this review as soon as I do. Overall, I would recommend the unit to anyone that, like me, is on the run all of the time. You don't even have to keep track of your measurements because the unit keeps about 100 readings in memory.
Customer Review: Great product! Summary: 5 Stars
I have high blood pressure and take several different kinds of blood pressure meds. As a result, I regularly check my blood pressure twice a day - once right after I wake up and once during the day. I take it right after I wake up because I discovered it was unusually high in the mornings which I eventually traced to being caused by breathing obstruction when I sleeped. I got a sleeping appliance to fix that, and since than my BP has been fine in the mornings. The cuff on this is very comfortable, and the readings seem to be fairly consistant and accurate. I'll occasionally check them against the readings of the older model OMRON I was using before. This model also tells you if have an irregular heartbeat and lets you download stored readings to your laptop. It's well worth spending the extra $$ to get this model vs. one with less features!
Customer Review: Good choice Summary: 5 Stars
This monitor works very well and is extremely easy to use. It squeezes your wrist a little, but is far more comfortable than the arm cuff types. I found that it took a little practice to hold my arm in the right place, but once I got consistent with that it would find the pulse and start taking the pressure reading right away. I chose this one because it can download data to the computer. The software was easy to install, and downloading data is as easy as plugging in the cable and clicking the button that says Download. The only thing that I didn't care for (and this might not matter to you) is I would like to have had the software capable of labelling individual readings with the condition they were taken under, like "after exercising", "bad day at work", "after nap" etc.
Overall: very satisfied, would recommend to a friend
Customer Review: Software Adds Value Summary: 4 Stars
My doctor recommended this little unit to me and I am very happy with it. I compared other units but this one was the easiest to use and reasonably accurate. It is a little difficult to program initially and sometimes it will give you false readings - either very high, or very low - if you don't get it placed on your wrist properly. I like the fact that it just snaps around my wrist, shows the results quickly, and compiles the daily records. But the real PLUS in my opinion is the software that accompanies this instrument. It's easy to install, fairly intuitive, and it gives me many, many options for reading and saving the information. It is a great tool for helping me track my progress towards lowering my blood pressure. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for such help.
