I had my first Omron BP monitor for about 2 years before it died.
I was a little disappointed that it did not last very long, but bought another since I liked the display and the accuracy.
Being a nurse, I have compared doing a BP manually with this machine and it is right on target.
I have now had this machine for about 8 months and I am very pleased.

This thing gets so tight it makes my lower arm and hand numb. I can feel the desperate beating of the pulse in my upper arm, and the blood pressure readings are way too high. I guess the solution is to spend more and get a better monitor, but I won't do it unless I can try it first. I'm so afraid of the pain of using this one that my blood pressure goes up just thinking about it, so of course - I don't use it.Customer Review: Just What I Needed!

After a doctor's check-up, my blood pressure was higher than it had ever been. I decided to take an active role in monitoring it so I ordered the Omron HEM-712C from Amazon. This machine was also rated rather high with Consumer Reports and the price was in-line with the suggested cost. It arrived in very short order and now both my wife and I monitor our BP ourselves. Just got it for 3 days. Overall, this is a very easy to use device. I don't have much to say except one thing. The problem bothers me now is I found it reads inconsistently. The reading varies up to 10 when taking 2 measurements in a row. I don't even change my sitting position. I've read some one mentioned this problem. Not sure if it's a common problem of this product or I am just another un-lucky guy.Customer Review: very satisfied

Have been using this product for about five weeks and it is terrific. Could not be simpler to use. Just put your arm through the cuff, tighten and position, and push the button. Within 15 seconds you have your blood pressure and pulse on the screen. The readings were just like my physician's so it appears quite accurate. Could not even think of any way this product could be better or easier to use.
