Customer Reviews of Omron HJ-150 Hip Pedometer

Customer Review: Best pedometer I have ever used
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm on my 4th pedometer, and this is by far the best. I am not interested in distance, or calories, or anything other than counting my # of steps each day. It's easy to read, VERY accurate, and stores 7 days of counts. It took (literally) 30 seconds to set up the time of day and you are ready to go. All of my other pedometers were either overly complicated (for my intended use) or overly sensitive (some actually registered steps while riding in the car). I paid $10 for mine on Amazon (not sure why it is now $14, just one week later) and it is worth the money. I strive for 10,000 steps a day and if I don't quite get there, I take a longer evening walk. So I know it's helping my health, by simply being a cue to action for additional activity. Even my husband is wearing one now, and we compare steps at the end of the day. Highly recommended, one of my favorite purchases in recent memory.

Customer Review: Good step counter; bad attachment
Summary: 3 Stars

I liked this step counter. It was accurate; it counts every step. I wore it every day. The only problem is that the clasp that attaches the step counter to one's waistband was tight, difficult to get on so that it would attach well and not fall off. One day at the post office when I bent over to pick something up, the step counter fell off; the back had separated from the rest of the step counter, and although I did not realize it then, the battery and tiny screws that attached the back to the rest of the step counter must have also fallen on the floor. I took the step counter to a watch repair service, and I was told that the step counter could not be repaired unless I brought them the tiny screws. At that point I gave up. I'd say this counter could be improved by putting some kind of leash on it. I would have been happy to pay more if I were sure it would not fall off.

Customer Review: What could be simpler?
Summary: 5 Stars

This pedometer counts all the steps you take while walking at a moderate pace, during the course of one day. Pressing a button will display the number of steps you have walked so far on that day. Then at midnight it stores the total, and resets the count to zero, ready for the next day's walking. Pressing the button repeatedly will show how many steps you walked on each of the previous seven days. Setup is easy -- you only have to set the time of day. The instructions are confused on one point: when they say "The unit must be positioned horizontally . . ." they really mean vertically, the position it automatically assumes when clipped to your belt.

I see this item listed five times here, but this one is the only one that ships from and is sold by Amazon.com, and qualifies for Super Saver shipping.

Customer Review: BEST PEDOMETER -- EVER!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

If you're looking for a pedomoter that just keeps track of your steps, then this is the pedometer for you! This keeps track of the last 7 days -- automatically! Once you set the time on the pedometer, all you have to do is put it on and go -- no resetting required! This pedometer is a "no-brainer" -- especially when you don't need all of the other "fancy" things that come with today's pedometers. The only setup required is the time -- everything else is automatic!

This is actually my second one, as the first one fell in the toilet as I was cleaning it! Now I have a little "pedometer lanyard" that I attach to my pants so that will never happen again!

Customer Review: works. clip is uncomfortable and falls off easily
Summary: 3 Stars

i like it for its simple number display and automatic reset at midnight. and i like that it has a clip but back of clip protrudes into your waist. hurts! cant drive wtih it on as seat belt pokes it into your skin further. cant sit with it as it's pushed to fall off. and every time you take down your pants to go the bathroom it falls off onto dirty restroom floors or toilet. yuck! or you risk losing it if you didnt notice it fell. they should make the clip tighter and able to be clipped anywhere on fabric other than waist. but its ok clipped on just while exercising. just not a good one to count all day steps and who really needs to do that except for fun?
