I wanted a pedometer that wouldn't quit working 2 weeks after I bought it, or the first time it hit the ground. Didn't want a lot of bells and whistles - just something to help me track my walking. This pedometer has done a great job. It has a sturdy clip and even though it did fall off (just once in the last month) it didn't break into pieces as two previous pedometers did. It's simple to use and tracks for 7 days which is helpful. Easy to read as well. This model of the Omron pedometer suits my needs exceptionally well. I had one that I lost, and wanted to replace it with the same model. Not only does it eliminate counting the "inadvertent" steps (walking across the room, wasling from the desk to the light switch, etc.), it keeps the current day and 7 previous days in memory. You can wear it in a number of places on your waistband or pocket, and the count is exceptionally accurate. This is the best pedometer that I have found. It is easy to use; automatically starts at "0" steps at the beginning of each day; stores the number of steps for the previous 7 days; displays large numbers; size is compact, the clip is snug so it doesn't fall off when attached to clothing, and is flat so it fits nicely inside a pocket or on a waist band. I have bought several for gifts and everyone really likes its features! You can't go wrong with this one if you need basic features. A happy customer!Customer Review: Omron pedometer

This pedometer is simple to set up and easy to use. The info can easily be seen without having to remove it from your pocket. However, if you plan on using it for more outdoor activities than just walking, I would suggest buying a leash for it. The clip is strong, but it can be knocked off of your pocket. I'd imagine that this would be true with any clip-on pedometer, though. When I lost one of these, I replaced it with the same thing. Relatively inexpensive but effective. The Omron HJ-150 Hip Pedometer is great. You don't have to program it by entering your stride, etc. All you have to do is set the time, clip it on and go. The only bad thing is, you have to be careful of if falling off. I wear mine in my front hip pocket so I hit it with my arms alot. You can order a security cord, but I would like to see the clip have more pressure so it can't fall off so easily. I'm already on my second one in a month--they don't survive the washer and dryer!
