Customer Reviews of Omron HJ-151 Hip Pedometer for Aerobic ActivityCustomer Review: OMRON HU-151 PEDOMETER Summary: 5 Stars
I originally had a less expensive version of this pedometer from the Cleveland Clinic Shape and Go Program. Amazingly enough I put it through a washing machine cycle and then dropped it in the toilet and I thought it was broken so I ordered this one. My husband rescued the original and he is still using it and I really like this one because it gives me more information. I would definately endorse this brand of pedometers-they are made to stand up to rough treatment and still work! This one has already been in the toilet once and was not damaged--I'm trying hard not to let that happen again!
Customer Review: Needs a safety leash! Summary: 4 Stars
This was the second and third Omron (HJ-151) Pedometer that I purchased. My first was dropped 2 times and never worked again. The second, I purchased with a safety leash and my girlfriend in Baja, Mexico loved it so much I left it for her and ordered 2 more along with 2 safety leashes, which are NOT encluded. The leashes do not cost much but this time they were shipped from a different place and I had to pay more on the shipping than for the leashes! Omron really should include them in the price as due to the nature of the beast, you will need one to keep it safe.
Customer Review: great pedometer Summary: 5 Stars
I bought 2 of these, 1 for my husband and 1 for me. I love this pedometer. The 7 day tracker is a good feature to have so you can view your progress through out the week. I also like that you can't "cheat" by shaking the pedometer, somehow it can tell when you are actually walking and when it is being shaken. I recommend this to anyone looking to count their steps...remember, it is recommended that we take 10,000 steps each day to MAINTAIN your current weight, to lose weight you will have to increase the amount of steps you take each day.
Customer Review: Excellent pedometer! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this pedometer to keep track of my activity throughout the day, and have been surprised by how far away from the recommended 10,000 steps/day I am! I plan to continue wearing it daily to keep track of my progress and work towards a new goal in # of steps each week.
What I like about this pedometer: easy to use, hinged clip/sturdy, keeps track of activity over the last 7 days, screen turns off to preserve battery life, not bulky or obvious (I wear it clipped to my waistband at the right hip/sometimes to my right pocket)
Customer Review: Omron HJ-151 Pedometer Summary: 3 Stars
I'm using this for running- I know it doesn't specify in the details-- but you can use it for running. I've found that it's not perfect. It's off by a bit- it overestimates how far I've gone. I'm not sure if it's consistent with it's overestimation or not though. I also wish there was an "on/off" button so that it wouldn't start measuring until I wanted it to. But all in all- I've found it helpful in helping me measure how far I've run (I'm training for a 1/2 marathon) and I don't always know how far the distances are...
