Customer Review: Description of Product - Not sweet and light

I was worried about the level of sweetness and the level of thickness of the shake. After trying multiple protein shakes including Muscle Milk, I was always left unsatisfied because I would get severe indigestion or the drink would make me want to puke.
This NEW DRINK, however, is not sweet at all (more like a ligher version of Ovaltine regarding the taste), and it seriously is good enough to just drink for taste alone at anytime during the day!
The initial smell is slightly putrid as it reminded me of all the protein drinks I've had in the past, but once you start drinking it, the smell is unnoticeable.
Also the powder is extremely light as I even tried mixing it with Full Whole Milk. Even then, the drink is extremely light and easy to drink. I want to drink more!
You don't need a protein shaker cup, but it sure does make things a lot easier. Over all, waaay better than I expected even after reading rave reviews. BTW, careful if you're going to try Cookies and Cream, Double Chocolate, and Vanilla. All 3 had mixed reviews. Most people rate the Tropical Punch as being killer though.

This is easily the best whey product of the ones I've sampled, and doesn't have any weird aftertastes or unnatural additives. It actually mixes pretty well just with a fork or spoon, but be aware there will still be clumping at the top unless you use a blender (or possibly a shaker, I don't have one of those). It goes very very well in skim milk or almond milk - no need to do anything heavier like 2% or whole milk. It's okay in water but definitely better in a base with some kind of flavor. A scoop of this mixed via blender with a cup of skim milk, a tablespoon of canola oil, 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of psyllium powder for fiber, a dash of vanilla, and a few ice cubes makes a great shake - especially if you start adding stuff like part of a frozen banana, some kahlua and irish cream, or whatever.
I think it's been successful for me too. I've put on some muscle since I started having it in conjunction with my exercise, which I attribute to it helping my body's repair process. I'm definitely satisfied and I think I'll try the vanilla one next, since vanilla anything is usually my favorite flavor. :)

This whey protein is 100% natural and that is always a plus. When I first tried it, I tried it with a cup of warm water and lets just say that was a sacrifice to drink it all. Then I tried it with a cold cup of water and that was slightly better but I had to really force myself to drink it since it does not taste that good.
I then tried it with Silk Vanilla Soy Milk and that was the best thing I ever did. A cup of Silk Vanilla Soy Milk with a scoop of this tastes so good I have to hold myself back from having more everytime I finish.
Beware that this protein is rather thick in a cup if you use a full scoop so you have to stir a lot and sometimes chunks still remain. I usually do 3/4 of a scoop and it tends to dissolve okay in a cup of soy milk around 5 ounces.
Other than that, it appears to do its job. I work out, take creatine to replenish my muscles and I take this right after my dose of creatine and after 3 weeks I have noticed muscle gain. Of course, it does not mean this gave me muscle gains, but it sure helps to feed your muscles after an intense workout.

I decided to try this out instead of my regular muscle milk because of its high sales rank on Amazon, its pretty much the same thing as muscle milk but you only use up 1 scoop per serving of this vs muscle milks 2 scoops per serving and this is $10 cheaper then Muscle Milk. The taste of this product is not as good as muscle milk however, muscle milk taste smooth, creamy, and like a milk shake with no need to add additional products to add taste to it. This product taste almost like nothing, I purchased the Vanilla flavored tub and didnt taste any vanilla flavor in there, it tasted almost flavorless with soy milk.

Customer Review: Tastes better than I expected..contains Stevia and Fructose

I purchased the Natural Vanilla flavored Gold Standard Natural 100% Whey product.
It arrived at my door with a few days even though the tracking site never showed it as even arriving in my state.
I immediately opened it and poured 1 scoop into 5 ounces of water and mixed it with a fork.
It did not clump or stick to the glass.
I drank it down and detected a very faint aftertaste but nothing nearly as bad as the sucralose I tasted in their banana cream product.
It does not taste bad at all and I am happy with the flavor.
I can live with this product and will finish the tub even though it contains Stevia and Fructose.
I really wanted something with no sweeteners at all and once again I have made the mistake of buying a product with sweeteners.
If anyone knows of a product with no sweeteners at all please let me know.
All in all, if you know what you are buying and reviewed the nutritional info and ingredients carefully I highly recommend this.
